The San Antonio Spurs selected guard Blake Wesley out of Notre Dame with their third and final first-round pick of the 2022 NBA draft, the 25th overall pick. Wesley is an athletic 6-foot-5 guard who is especially intriguing on the defensive end thanks to his 6-foot-9 wingspan. He has semblances of promise on the offensive end, as he's shown ball-handling abilities and explosiveness at the rim. He averaged 14.4 points per game as a freshman last year but struggled with his efficiency, shooting just 40.4% from the field and 30.3% from beyond the arc. The Spurs drafted another guard, Malaki Branham out of Ohio State, with the 20th overall pick. Branham is a bit more well-rounded offensively than Wesley, but both rookies figure to face an uphill battle for playing time this season.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBallerRead More News
