Sony Michel Underwent Knee Scope
6 years agoNew England Patriots running back Sony Michel (knee) missed the final stages of the team's offseason program because he underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his knee, according to a league source. He's expected to be ready for training camp in late July, though, so he should be fine for the start of the regular season after leading the team in 2018 with 209 rushing attempts for 931 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie. Michel should be heavily in the backfield mix again in 2019, but his extensive injury history coupled with the fact that New England's backfield is crowded -- James White, Rex Burkhead, Brandon Bolden and rookie Damien Harris are all lurking -- makes Michel a pretty risky second-year back after what he accomplished in his first season in the NFL.
