Shane Steichen Named Eagles Offensive Coordinator
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles named Shane Steichen as their new offensive coordinator on Thursday. Steichen was formerly the Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator and worked with head coach Nick Sirianni in LA. There's no guarantee that quarterback Carson Wentz will be around, but second-year QB Jalen Hurts is an intriguing youngster to work with under center. Sirianni's staff will also include quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson, offensive quality control coach Alex Tanney, defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon and special teams coordinator Michael Clay. Tanney, a journeyman backup quarterback, just retired from the NFL on Tuesday. Steichen helped Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert win Offensive Rookie of the Year, so he could do wonders for Hurts as well.
