Sam Bradford Still The Starter In Arizona
7 years agoEven after the Arizona Cardinals traded up five spots to select quarterback Josh Rosen at No. 10 overall in Thursday night's first round of the draft, quarterback Sam Bradford remains the starter, for now. Bradford is guaranteed $15 million in 2018 and Mike Glennon is guaranteed $4 million. “We got Sam to be our starting quarterback and I would still say that is the case,” head coach Steve Wilks said. “I’m very excited about Josh ... what he can bring. Every position is open for competition.” Rosen is very polished and was perhaps the most NFL-ready of the QB prospects in the draft class, so he'll surely give Bradford plenty of competition in training camp. But as long as Bradford doesn't fall flat, he should open the season as the starter. However, given Bradford's extensive injury history, one has to expect that Rosen will be making starts for Arizona at some point in 2018. Bradford will be a shaky fantasy backup, while Rosen has as much upside as any quarterback that was drafted Thursday night.
