Sal Stewart Extends Hitting Streak To Seven Games
7 months agoCincinnati Reds third base prospect Sal Stewart went 2-5 at the plate on Friday with a home run to extend his hitting streak to seven games. Through 39 games with High-A Dayton this season, the 20-year-old has posted an impressive .296/.418/.452 with three long balls and four stolen bases. Stewart spent the majority of last summer with Single-A but did get an opportunity to play with High-A and posted a very similar .291/.397/.391 line through 29 games. The number seven prospect in the Cincinnati system looks very comfortable at High-A and should be able to at least get a taste of Double-A pitching at the end of the summer. This is a great sign for him as MLB Pipeline projects him to reach the major leagues in 2026, but the young third baseman looks to be on pace to smash that timeline.
