Ryan Mountcastle Injured Wednesday
1 year agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (shoulder) left Wednesday's game early against the St. Louis Cardinals with left-shoulder discomfort in the third inning. He was replaced by pinch-hitter Ramon Urias. Before leaving the contest, Mountcastle walked in his only plate appearance. The 26-year-old's injury didn't look very serious, so fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day heading into Thursday's series opener against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays. Mountcastle entered Wednesday's game hitting .269/.325/.453 with 18 home runs, 20 doubles, a triple, 67 RBI, three stolen bases and 63 runs scored in 110 games in his fourth big-league season. Considering he hit 33 bombs in his first full season in 2021, Mountcastle has been somewhat of a disappointment for the first-place O's.
