Ryan Mountcastle, Adley Rutschman Both Out Sunday
2 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Ryan Mountcastle (illness) and catcher Adley Rutschman are both out of the lineup on Sunday against the Kansas City Royals. Mountcastle hasn't played since June 8 due to an illness, but he could be available off the bench against KC. He's struggled of late as well, hitting .188 (9-for-48) with a homer, five RBI and 16 strikeouts in his last 13 games played. The 26-year-old is hitting just .227 on the year, but he does have 11 homers and 39 RBI. Rutschman has struggled to begin June and went hitless in the first two games of the series against KC, so hopefully a day off will get him going again. Josh Lester is starting at first base and batting eighth for the O's on Sunday, while James McCann will do the catching and hit out of the nine-hole against Royals right-hander Carlos Hernandez.
