Red Sox's Rotation Set for Series Against Phillies
Walker Buehler on Monday, Richard Fitts on Tuesday, and Lucas Giolito on Wednesday. Buehler put together back-to-back respectable starts before the All-Star break, but the first half was a struggle for the former Dodger. He's off to a 6-6 start with a 6.12 ERA, a 1.56 WHIP, and 63:35 K:BB in 78 innings. Fitts made eight starts in the first half, going 1-3 with a 4.28 ERA, a 1.22 WHIP, and 28:10 K:BB over 33 2/3 frames. The 25-year-old will have an opportunity to stick in Boston's rotation in the wake of righty Hunter Dobbins' season-ending knee injury. Giolito yielded four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings in a loss to the Cubs on Friday. However, the 31-year-old has mostly thrived over the past month-plus. He's 6-2 with a 3.59 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts against 23 walks across 77 2/3 innings.
