Ravens Part Ways With Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman
2 years agoThe Baltimore Ravens announced on Thursday that they are parting ways with offensive coordinator Greg Roman after their season came to an end on Sunday night with a wild-card loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Roman had one year left on his deal, but he has stepped down amid fan outrage and player frustration in a declining offense. He produced the league's most prolific offense around quarterback Lamar Jackson in 2019, but Roman didn't come close to replicating that offense in the last three years. Baltimore's scoring had decreased in each of Roman's four seasons as the play-caller, from an NFL-best 33.2 points per game in 2019 to 20.6 points per game in 2022 (19th). Putting together a solid passing attack eluded him, but it didn't help that Jackson was injured late in each of the last two seasons.
