The New York Rangers have acquired veteran center Alex Wennberg from the Seattle Kraken. In return, the Kraken will receive a second-round pick in 2024 and a fourth-rounder in 2025. The club is retaining 50% of Wennberg's pro-rated $4.5 million cap hit. He is a free agent following this season. The 29-year-old is a solid two-way center who has recorded nine goals and 25 points in 60 games with the Kraken this season while averaging a career-high 18:49 of average ice time per game. The Rangers have been in search of a third-line center with 25-year-old Filip Chytil out for the remainder of the season with a concussion. They sit atop the Metropolitan Division with a 40-18-4 record on the season.--Brenton KempRead More News
