Rams Planning On Reaching Contract Extension With Brandin Cooks
7 years agoThe Los Angeles Rams plan to sign newly-acquired wide receiver Brandin Cooks to a contract extension before the regular season starts, according to a team source. He's scheduled to earn $8.5 million in the final year of his deal in 2018, but he's clearly part of the long-term plan in LA. Cooks is an excellent deep threat and has recorded three straight seasons with 1,000 yards and also had a career-high 16.6 yards per catch with New England in 2017. Rams head coach Sean McVay will surely like using him as the replacement for Sammy Watkins. However, Cooks may find it hard to go four straight years with 1,000 yards while competing for targets with Robert Woods and rising youngster Cooper Kupp. Don't pay too much for Cooks in fantasy drafts this fall.
