Raiders Refusing To Make Josh Jacobs Available Via Trade
1 year agoThe Las Vegas Raiders have refused to make running back Josh Jacobs available in trade conversations, according to league sources. The Raiders also have no plans to rescind Jacobs' franchise tag and have yet to make an increased one-year offer similar to the one Saquon Barkley received from the New York Giants. Jacobs will either have to play for the Raiders at some point in 2023 or sit out the entire season, which is unlikely. The Raiders are confident Jacobs will return before the start of the regular season, which is only 17 days away. However, the more time he misses, the less prepared he'll be for a Week 1 showdown with the division-rival Denver Broncos. Even if Jacobs is active for Week 1, it's unlikely he'll be able to handle his typical workhorse role right away. After leading the NFL in rushing in 2022, Jacobs' situation this offseason has made him more of a low-end RB1 with plenty of risk.
