Raheem Mostert Set To Backup Ashton Jeanty In 2025
Raheem Mostert, now 33 years old, was signed by the Las Vegas Raiders as a free agent in the 2025 offseason. But Vegas proceeded to spend a 6th-overall pick on Jeanty, who finished 2nd in Heisman Trophy voting and rushed for over 2,600 yards in his final collegiate season. Backs drafted with such high picks tend to be fed an incredible amount of volume in their early seasons in the league, so Mostert doesn't appear to have much of a role ahead of him in 2025. He has contingent upside as a handcuff, obviously, but other than spelling Jeanty for a few passing downs here and there and perhaps the odd carry, it should be Jeanty who's dominating touches. Mostert's career is clearly on the decline, and his 2022 season seems to have been a fluke driven by excellent run-blocking with the Miami Dolphins. Mostert should be drafted only as a handcuff to Jeanty in fantasy football leagues in 2025.
