Philip Rivers Bores In Final Home Game Of 2019
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers put up an uneventful fantasy day in what could be his final home game as a member of the Chargers. Rivers tallied 279 yards over the course of the afternoon, but it didn't add up to much for his fantasy owners since Melvin Gordon scored both of the team's touchdowns on short runs. Rivers did hurt his hand while attempting to lay a block early in the game, but some tape kept him in there for the entire contest, so it doesn't seem severe. Rivers kept from turning the ball over, but he averaged just 7.2 yards per attempt, over 10% lower than his career average. After the game, Rivers was adamant that he still wants to keep playing in the NFL after this season, but it's unclear if he'll be ringing in LA's new stadium as a member of the squad. For now, one last game in Kansas City expects to be a terrible way to finish up a season.
