Steelers Request to Interview Nate Scheelhaase for Head-Coaching Job
The Pittsburgh Steelers have requested to interview Los Angeles Rams passing-game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase for their head-coaching job, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN. Scheelhaase is a rising young name in the coaching ranks and is also expected to interview for head-coaching jobs with the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, and Las Vegas Raiders. In addition to Scheelhaase, the Steelers want to speak with Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula. Scheelhaase joined the Rams' coaching staff last year as an offensive assistant and pass-game specialist. Before joining the NFL, he was the offensive coordinator at Iowa State in 2023. Shula is considered the favorite to win the Steelers' head-coaching gig, but Scheelhaase could make a run at a head-coaching job with another organization very soon. Long-time Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin resigned after 19 years on Tuesday.
