Patriots Give Stephon Gilmore A Raise
4 years agoThe New England Patriots gave reigning Defensive Player of the Year Stephon Gilmore a significant raise on Friday, bumping his salary from $10.5 million to $15.5 million this year with a chance to earn up to $17.5 million in incentives. This comes despite the fact that Gilmore has two years left on his contract, according to league sources. The first-team All-Pro cornerback had 53 total tackles, a career-high six interceptions (two for touchdowns) and a career-high 20 passes defensed in 2019. He was also a first-team All-Pro in 2018 in New England when he had two interceptions and 20 passes defensed. Gilmore's presence in the secondary makes the Patriots Defense a strong starting fantasy unit again in 2020 and in Week 1 against the Dolphins.
