Adam Hadwin may have had his best opportunity to contend at the RBC Canadian Open. The golfer from Canada missed some key putts on Sunday and finished outside the Top 10 (T-12). That has been Hadwin's best result in a stroke tournament since February. Even at the Travelers Championship, he fired an opening round 66 then largely struggled which culminated in a Sunday 75. Too many errant shots and even more missed putts have been a theme. His putts per round trends upward on the weekends (29.3) and worse, his scoring average is 70.84 (131st) and Par 4's (4.06 - 136th). Fading Hadwin over the weekend is a reasonable option until something changes.

Cam Davis has struggled in 2025, recording just one top-10 finish and eight missed cuts through 18 events. He’ll look to find momentum at the Rocket Classic, the cornerstone of Davis’ success on the PGA Tour. In his last four trips to Detroit Golf Club, he has recorded two wins and two additional top-17 finishes. The course typically rewards strong overall tee-to-green performance and driving distance. Davis ranks just 150th in strokes gained from tee to green (minus-0.626 per round), 132nd on approach (minus-0.211), and 88th in driving distance. His putting has been average, ranking 86th (plus-0.040), but he does sit 26th in birdie-or-better percentage, a key metric in what’s expected to be a scoring-heavy week. While Davis has been out of form for most of the season, his elite course history alone makes him worth strong consideration at just $7,400 on DraftKings.

He’ll look to carry over momentum from the Travelers Championship, where he finished T23, into the Rocket Classic. He has competed at Detroit Golf Club four times, continuing his all-or-nothing trend with results of a missed cut, T78, T10, and T12 over the past four years. The course typically rewards strong tee-to-green play and driving distance, which should align well with Wallace’s strengths. He ranks 38th in strokes gained from tee to green (plus-0.592 per round), 65th in driving distance, and first on tour in strokes gained around the green (plus-0.715). His weaknesses lie in approach play (minus-0.119) and putting, where he ranks 135th (minus-0.201). Wallace remains a volatile option, but with momentum on his side, he could offer a strong return on investment at just $7,500 on DraftKings.

Joel Dahmen is just trying to see the weekend. The American golfer finished a runner-up in Mexico in April and has not made a cut since. That covers a span of five events. Overall in 2025, Dahmen has missed 10 cuts in 16 tournaments. The first betting option may be looking for odds on another missed cut. It is not a secret that Dahmen has struggled to keep his tour card in the past. Putting has been a major eyesore for the golfer ranking 146th in strokes gained (-0.328). Putts per round remains a big problem at 29.05 (114th). However, it gets worse on Sundays where Dahmen averages 30.33 putts (161st). That makes it hard to trust Dahmen despite three Top 10 results.

Michael Kim’s T42 at the Travelers Championship marked his sixth finish outside the top 40 in his last seven starts. He’ll look to get back on track at the Rocket Classic, where he has competed four times but made the cut just once with a best result of T52. Detroit Golf Club typically rewards strong tee-to-green play and driving distance, areas where Kim has been solid this season, ranking 39th in strokes gained from tee to green (plus-0.590 per round), 47th in approach (plus-0.285), and 93rd in driving distance. The concern for Kim is whether he can keep pace in what’s expected to be a birdie-fest, as he ranks just 92nd in putting (plus-0.019) and 153rd in birdie-or-better percentage. He’ll look to carry that form into the Rocket Classic, where he’s set to make his debut. At $8,300 on DraftKings, he’s a high-risk, high-reward option whose upside is appealing if he can get hot with his short game.

Matt McCarty is the truest definition of a roller coaster. The American golfer has been up and down since the start of the Spring part of the 2025 season. McCarty has missed the cut in four of his previous six events entered. However, there have been several Top 15 results. Maybe the U.S. Open was just a blip. Oakmont was a complete disaster for McCarty (82-78). Taking a week off was not a bad idea. However, the concern is there that McCarty may be a fading option in all fantasy formats. He may rank 29th in strokes gained to putting (0.282) but too many weeks have featured several missed putts too many. At the Rocket Classic, missed opportunities lead to way worse results.

Emiliano Grillo is heating up just in time for the Rocket Classic. The golfer from Argentina has four consecutive Top 25 results and no one remembers the first two months of 2025. Grillo struggled then but is not struggling now. His improvement in play has been noticeable. Keeping things on the course and mistakes to a minimum have been helpful. This has not translated into a Top 10 result this year but there is potential in Detroit. Grillo drives around PGA Tour average at 98th but his 65.86% accuracy ranks 20th. Again, Detroit is more about converting chances than creating them. Grillo could be a reasonable Top 20 betting option again this week.

Rickie Fowler finished T36 at the Travelers Championship, but his performance was better than the result suggests, as one rough stretch on Friday (seven over through seven holes) skewed his overall showing in an otherwise solid week. Prior to this, he had posted three top-16 finishes in his previous four starts and will look to carry that momentum into the Rocket Classic. Fowler won this event in dramatic fashion in 2023, defeating Adam Hadwin and Collin Morikawa in a playoff. Detroit Golf Club rewards tee-to-green performance and driving distance, areas where Fowler has been average this season. He ranks 95th in strokes gained from tee to green (plus-0.001 per round), 126th in approach (minus-0.031), and 74th in driving distance. He’s also 94th in both putting (plus-0.013) and birdie-or-better percentage (30.90%). At $8,700 on DraftKings, Fowler will likely be a popular play this week due to his strong course history and upward trajectory in recent form.

Wyndham Clark posted his first top-20 finish since the Houston Open in March with a T17 at the Travelers Championship. He’ll look to build on that at the Rocket Classic, where he last played in 2022 and finished T8. Max Greyserman is having a nice 2025 season. The golfer from New Jersey only has one Top 10 result but has made 17 of 19 cuts and has eight Top 25 finishes. He does always seem to have one strange round at an event. Three of the past final rounds have seen Greyserman shoot a 74. However, there is this feeling that the 30-year-old could put it together this week. The Rocket Classic sets up well for Greyserman and a Top 10 rolls in around +400. That solid birdie average of 3.94 ranks 41st and Greyserman tends to do well on courses that centers of converting birdie chances. Do not be surprised to see the golfer among the top DFS choices as well.

Akshay Bhatia has posted a mixed bag of results this season, recording three top-10 finish and six top-25s through 17 starts. He’ll look to find some consistency at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, where he’s played twice, finishing T2 in 2024 and missing the cut in 2023. Detroit Golf Club rewards overall tee-to-green performance, and Bhatia ranks 44th in total strokes gained (plus-0.537 per round), 78th from tee to green (plus-0.115), and 24th in strokes gained on approach (plus-0.458). Where he truly excels and what could elevate him in what’s expected to be a birdie-fest, is on the greens. He ranks 15th in putting (plus-0.422) and 20th in birdie-or-better percentage at 34.53%. At just $8,200 on DraftKings, Bhatia looks to be a solid value pick for DFS lineups this week.

Eric Cole has not had the best of months. The American golfer has not been faring too well in June. He missed consecutive cuts then had to withdraw from the Travelers after three rounds. With the illness improving, Cole will compete at the Rocket Classic. The golfer has had runs like this in 2025 and that makes figuring out Cole's form so troubling. His strokes gained to putting ranks a solid 43rd at 0.214. However, Cole's driving distance and accuracy is below average (121st) and 118th). Even worse, his greens in regulation at 61.28% rolls in at 158th. Cole hopes for better fortunes but he has to put rounds together. Right now, that may be difficult which means Cole may be one to steer clear from in DFS formats.

Beau Hossler started the year strong with back-to-back top-15 finishes in his first two events, but has recorded only one finish better than T32 since. He’ll look to get back on track at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, where he has played six times, making the cut in three of those appearances with a best result of T25 in 2021. Detroit Golf Club rewards tee-to-green performance and driving distance, but Hossler ranks just 118th in total strokes gained (minus-0.164 per round), 134th in strokes gained from tee to green (minus-0.318), and 146th in strokes gained on approach (minus-0.343). He does putt well, ranking 56th in strokes gained putting (plus-0.154), and sits 60th in driving distance. While the event often turns into a birdie-fest, and Hossler ranks 50th in birdie-or-better percentage at 32.31%, his volatility and poor course history make him a fade candidate at $6,900 on DraftKings.

Byeong Hun An has enjoyed a pretty good 2025. The South Korean golfer has been a bit inconsistent. However, at the Travelers, Hun A kept all four rounds in the 60's for the first time this year. The result was only a T-14 but he stayed around the top page of the leaderboard. Hun An tends to perform better in these summer tournaments and last week was solid proof of that. His fortunes always come down to putting and approach. Normally, Hun An is below average in both. Both are ranked outside the Top 125 in strokes gained (142nd and 147th respectively). That is why his scoring average of 70.73 only ranks 120th. However, his putts per round get better dropping from 29.11 to 28.15 by Sunday. If he warms up, Hun An could be a good betting option for a Top 10 or Top 20.
