4 days agoTo open the main card, Hyder Amil scored a first-round TKO victory over Jeong Yeong Lee. After taking a shot from Lee early in the first round, Amil reeled off 21 unanswered shots. In just over a minute, Amil landed 42 significant strikes compared to Lee who landed just four. His first UFC victory also came by standing TKO, a second-round finish of Fernie Garcia this past February. With the victory, Amil improved to 10-0 as a pro and is now 2-0 in the UFC. Source: UFC
5 days agoBill Algeo suffered a second-round knockout loss to Doo Ho Choi at UFC Vegas 94, which was his second-straight knockout loss. Algeo entered the fight as the favorite and in the first round, he had success. Algeo used his wrestling to control the first round, as he took Choi down twice and had over three minutes of control. However, in the second round, Algeo began slowing down as Choi started to land the heavier shots and landed a big left hand that dropped Algeo. After a couple of shots on the ground, the ref stopped the fight. With the loss, Algeo is now 5-5 in the UFC and could be fighting for his job next time out.Source: UFC
5 days agoDoo Ho Choi scored a second-round knockout win over Bill Algeo to return to the win column. Choi was ending an over-year-long layoff and was 0-3-1 in his last four fights as he hadn't won a fight since 2016. In the first round, Choi was taken down twice and controlled for over three minutes. However, in the second round, Choi started to have more success on the feet as he landed a massive left hand that stumbled Algeo who fell to the ground as Choi landed ground-and-pound shots to get the win. With the victory, Choi is now 15-4-1 as a pro and 4-3-1 in the UFC, as the win likely saved his job.Source: UFC
5 days agoCody Durden suffered a second-round knockout loss to Bruno Silva at UFC Vegas 94. In the first round, Durden was controlling the fight as he was landing the heavier shots and controlling the striking. In the second round, Durden landed a big punch that rocked Silva and then took him down, where he controlled him for over two-and-a-half minutes. But, right when Silva got up, he landed an uppercut that dropped Durden and the Brazilian then landed ground-and-pound shots as Durden suffered a second-round stoppage loss. With the loss, Durden fell to 16-6-1 as a pro and 5-4-1 in the UFC and is now on a two-fight losing streak.Source: UFC
5 days agoBruno Silva scored a second-round knockout win over Cody Durden in an epic comeback fashion. Silva was getting pieced up on the feet in the first round as Durden was landing the heavier and more damaging shots. In the second round, Silva appeared to get wobbled by a big punch and was then taken down and controlled for over two minutes. However, as Silva got back to his feet he landed a massive uppercut that dropped Durden and he landed heavy ground-and-pound to get the second stoppage win. With the win, Silva is now 14-5-2 and one NC while being 4-2 and one NC in the and should get a top-10 opponent next.Source: UFC
5 days agoSeung Woo Choi suffered a first-round knockout loss to Steve Garcia in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 94. Choi entered the fight as the underdog and after the two clinched each other to start the fight, Garcia landed a big left hand that wobbled Choi. As Choi tried to fire back with punches, he absorbed a barrage of punches and was dropped. After being dropped, Garcia landed heavy ground-and-pound to get the first-round stoppage win. With the loss, Choi fell to 4-6 in the UFC and is 1-4 in his last five. He likely will have to win his next fight to save his UFC job.Source: UFC
5 days agoSteve Garcia scored a first-round knockout win over Seung Woo Choi to extend his win streak to four, with all four victories coming by knockout. Garcia entered the fight as the favorite and started out strong as he was aggressive from the get-go, and landed a big left hand that stunned Choi. He then landed a barrage of punches that sat Choi down as he finished him off with ground strikes to get the first-round win. With the victory, Garcia improved to 16-5 as a pro and is now 5-2 in the UFC. A ranked opponent should be next for Garcia.Source: UFC
