2 weeks agoCody Brundage (10-5) is set to take on highly-touted undefeated prospect Bo Nickal at UFC 300 on Saturday. Brundage is on a two-fight winning streak and coming off an upset KO win over Zach Reese in December. Brundage is the biggest underdog on the card as DraftKings has him at a salary of $6,700. In the UFC, Brundage is 4-4 with three wins by stoppage, while he's been finished twice. If Brundage can beat Nickal it will be one of the biggest upsets in UFC history.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
2 weeks agoBo Nickal (5-0) is set to open the UFC 300 main card against Cody Brundage. Nickal is coming off a 38-second KO win over Val Woodburn last July as the former All-American wrestler is a perfect 2-0 in the UFC. Nickal enters the historic card as the biggest favorite on the card as DraftKings has him at a salary of $9,500. Nickal has finished all five of his fights in the first round, with his longest fight going just under three minutes.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
2 weeks agoMax Holloway (25-7) is set to move up to lightweight to face Justin Gaethje for the BMF title on Saturday at UFC 300. Holloway is coming off a KO win over Korean Zombie to extend his win streak to two. The Hawaiian enters the bout as the underdog as DraftKings has Holloway at a salary of $7,400. Holloway is 21-7 in the UFC with 12 wins by stoppage while he's only been finished once - by submission. A win over Gaethje could earn Holloway a title shot at either lightweight or featherweight.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
2 weeks agoJustin Gaethje (25-4) is set to take on Max Holloway on the main card of UFC 300, as Gaethje puts his BMF title on the line. Gaethje won the BMF title back in July with a head-kick KO win over Dustin Poirier and now faces the fan-friendly fighter in Holloway. Gaethje enters the bout as the favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $8,800. In the UFC, Gaethje is 8-4 with six wins by knockout, while all four of his losses have come by stoppage.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
2 weeks agoZhang Weili (24-3) is set to defend her strawweight title for the second time in the co-main event of UFC 300 against Yan Xiaonan. Weili is coming off a lopsided decision win over Amanda Lemos back in August. Heading into her title defense, Weili is a massive favorite as DraftKings has her at a salary of $9,200. In her UFC career, Weili is 8-2 and has won four times by stoppage, while she has been finished just one time in her career.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
2 weeks agoChris Curtis suffered a split-decision loss to Brendan Allen in the main event of UFC Vegas 90 on Saturday. Curtis replaced Marvin Vettori against Allen at UFC Vegas 90 on three weeks' notice. After losing the first round, Curtis came back and showed his impressive stand up game in the second and third round. Allen stepped on the gas in the fourth and in the fifth round to win the split-decision victory. In 25 minutes of action, Curtis landed 124 significant strikes, compared to Allen who landed 112. Curtis and Allen are now 1-1, with Curtis having knocked out Allen in another short-notice booking in 2021. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
2 weeks agoAfter a hard fought gritty battle, Brendan Allen was awarded a split decision victory over Chris Curtis in the main event of UFC Vegas 90. Allen was originally matched up with Marvin Vettori, who suffered an injury. Allen entered the bout riding a six-fight winning streak. Five of those wins came by way of submission. After five rounds, the judges scored 48-47, 47-48, 49-46. In 25 minutes of action, Allen landed six takedowns and 112 significant strikes. Despite facing tough opponents, Brendan Allen's recent success cements his position as a rising star in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
2 weeks agoIn a closely contested featherweight showdown on Saturday, Morgan Charriere was on the wrong side of a split-decision announcement after his fight with Jose Mariscal. The first round was close but Mariscal did a bit more to win that round. The second round clearly went to Charriere, with the third round being the toughest to score. In the end, two judges awarded Mariscal the win, while the third official had it 30-27 for Charriere. In 15 minutes of action, Charriere landed two takedowns and 49 significant strikes. With the loss, Charriere is now 1-1 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
2 weeks agoJose Mariscal scored his third UFC win by defeating Morgan Charriere via split-decision on the main card of UFC Vegas 90 on Saturday. Beating Charriere improved Mariscal's professional MMA record to 16 wins, 6 losses and 1 No Contest. Mariscal and Charriere went to war for three rounds, earning themselves a 'Fight of the Night' bonus. In 15 minutes of action, Mariscal landed a takedown and 71 significant strikes.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
2 weeks agoLukasz Brzeski faced Valter Walker at UFC Vegas 90, picking up a much-needed victory by unanimous decision. Brzeski was on a three-fight losing streak before his bout with Walker. Over the 15-minute bout, Brzeski landed more strikes than Walker, convincing judges that he deserved the unanimous nod. This was probably the most important fight of Brzeski's career as he was fighting to stay on the UFC roster. In 15 minutes of action, Brzeski landed 58 significant strikes.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
2 weeks agoValter Walker made his promotional debut at UFC Vegas 90, but unfortunately for him, he wasn't victorious. The bout went the full three rounds and the win was awarded to Lukasz Brzeski unanimously. Walker controlled much of the contest with his grappling, but significant strikes went in favor of Brzeski. In 15 minutes of action, Walker landed four takedowns and 33 significant strikes. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
2 weeks agoTrevor Peek suffered a unanimous decision loss to Charlie Campbell in the UFC Vegas 90 main card opener. Peek tried to turn the fight into a brawl but struggled to deal with Campbell's striking which was much more technical than his. Peek was outstruck in all three rounds to lose a clear-cut decision. With the loss, Peek is now 2-2 in the UFC as he fought out his contract, but the always-entertaining fighter should be re-signed by the promotion.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
2 weeks agoCharlie Campbell scored a unanimous decision win over Trevor Peek in the main card opener of UFC Vegas 90. Campbell proved to be the more technical striker as he outstruck Peek in all three rounds. The American frustrated Peek, as his opponent tried to turn the fight into a brawl, but Campbell was able to piece up Peek to win a clear-cut decision. With the win, Campbell is now 2-0 in the UFC and 9-2 overall.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
2 weeks agoChristos Giagos suffered a first-round knockout loss to Ignacio Bahamondes on the main card of UFC Vegas 90 on Saturday. Giagos was one of the bigger underdogs heading into the event, and from the get-go, he was struggling with Bahamondes' size. Giagos got rocked by punches and then Bahamondes landed a head kick that dropped him and the ref stopped the fight. With the loss, Giagos is on a two-fight losing streak and is now 6-8 in the UFC.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
2 weeks agoIgnacio Bahamondes scored a first-round knockout over Christos Giagos at UFC Vegas 90 to return to the win column. Bahamondes entered the fight as a sizeable betting favorite and right away he was landing heavy shots that rocked Giagos. After having him wobbled with punches, Bahamondes landed a head kick that dropped Giagos and the ref stopped the fight. With the win, Bahamondes is now 4-2 in the UFC.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
