Colorado Rockies right-handed reliever Seth Halvorsen (forearm) was unavailable to pitch in the team's series against the Cincinnati Reds last weekend because of forearm fatigue. Halvorsen has been the Rockies' primary closer this season, but with him on the shelf, the team turned to Victor Vodnik to fill that role. Vodnik had an eventful weekend, picking up a save, a blown save, and a loss in two appearances. He may be first in line for saves should Halvorsen require a stint on the 15-day injured list. Halvorsen has converted eight of his 11 save opportunities while posting subpar numbers across 35 2/3 innings. The 25-year-old has logged a 5.30 ERA with a 1.57 WHIP and 32:17 K:BB--Connor ByrneSource: Jeff Wallner

Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber was named the 2025 Ted Williams All-Star Game MVP in Tuesday's National League win over the American League in an extra-inning swing-off. During the game, Schwarber went 0-for-2 with a walk, but blasted three home runs in the swing-off to help the National League come home with the win. This was Schwarber's third All-Star game appearance, and certainly one for him to remember. Schwarber will take some time off over the next few days and look to help the Phillies win the NL East, as they currently lead the New York Mets by 0.5 games. Schwarber is currently slashing an impressive .247/.378/.545 with 30 home runs, 66 runs scored, and 69 RBI at the break.--Nicho RoesslerSource: MLB Network

Boston Red Sox left-hander Aroldis Chapman said he hasn't talked to the Red Sox about any contract beyond this season, beat writer Rob Bradford reports. Chapman is currently under a one-year, $10.75 million contract with the Red Sox, which is set to expire at the end of this season. Chapman is putting together a great campaign in 2025 thus far, which earned him a trip to Truist Park to be in the All-Star game this year. Chapman owns an impressive 1.18 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, and is holding opponents to a .143 batting average with 17 saves on the season. Even with this level of production, it appears the Red Sox have not yet discussed an extension for the 37-year-old from Cuba. The Red Sox won 10 games in a row leading up to the break and now sit only three games back in the AL East standings behind the Toronto Blue Jays.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Rob Bradford

The Colorado Rockies have reported that shortstop Ezequiel Tovar (oblique) is likely to return after the All-Star break, according to Thomas Harding, the Rockies' beat writer. Tovar injured his oblique back on June 6, andread more...

Cleveland Guardians right-hander Shane Bieber (elbow) was sharp in his rehab start against the Dodgers in the Arizona Complex League. He threw two innings, allowed one hit, no runs, one walk, and struck out five batters. While the line is solid for Bieber in this one, the most crucial thing will be that he does not experience any additional setbacks after the start. No issues have been reported to date, which is very encouraging. Bieber is recovering from Tommy John surgery last year. During his rehab journey, he experienced a minor setback in early June, which has unfortunately slowed down his timeline to return by about a month. Since the setback, he has worked his way back up from bullpens to live hitters, and Tuesday's rehab start is another encouraging sign. Fantasy managers will want to continue to monitor his progress, but it seems likely that the Guardians will want to ramp him up to 70-75 pitches before we see him return to the Majors.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Guardians Prospective

Harris English ranks eighth in FedEx points. The American golfer even has cracked the Top 20 in the world rankings (19th). However, despite nine appearances overseas, English has not had quite the same success at The Open Championship. His best result was a T-15 at Muirfield way back in 2013. Since then, there have been three missed cuts and a bunch of outside Top 40 results. English does seem to like ugly golf as his Farmers Insurance Open win this year would attest. For a golfer who has finished under par inside the United Kingdom only once, history seems against him. English is -205 to make the cut this time around and current form suggests a changed golfer as evidenced by his T-22 at the Genesis Scottish Open last week.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) took another step toward his eventual return to the Majors on Tuesday night. Snell completed his second rehab start on Tuesday, this time with the Dodgers' Arizona Complex League affiliate, tossing three innings, allowing one earned run, and racking up seven strikeouts. He appeared sharp in this outing, and now, with two rehab starts under his belt, he has logged five innings, striking out 11 and allowing only one run. Most importantly, zero walks. The Dodgers will likely aim to ramp him up to about 70-75 pitches before he returns to their starting rotation, but these are all positive signs for fantasy managers who have been stashing Snell on their IL. Snell has been on the shelf since April 3, and once he returns, Snell is the kind of player who can be a league-winner down the stretch. In his 10-year MLB career, he owns an impressive 3.18 ERA and a fantastic 11.17 K/9.--Nicho RoesslerSource: Minor League Baseball

Aldrich Potgieter missed the cut at St. Andrews in 2022 as an amateur. The South African golfer won the amateur version of The Open Championship that year. Potgeiter did win his first event on the PGA Tour in June at the 2025 Rocket Classic. He defeated Max Greyserman and Chris Kirk in a playoff. It was the second playoff Potgieter competed in. His ability off the tee is one of the best on tour in 2025. Potgieter drives the ball a whopping 328.2 yards on average. However, his trajectory is troubling and so is his 55.78% driving accuracy (135th). It is one reason why his odds on missing the cut have gone from plus territory to -120 in the last couple weeks. Potgieter may even be one to stay away from in DFS formats. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Toronto Raptors shooting guard Ja'Kobe Walter made big plays at both ends in Tuesday's 101-97 victory over the Denver Nuggets in the Las Vegas Summer League, leading all scorers with 26 points and snagging a game-high seven steals. Following a couple of rough shooting performances in Vegas, Walter finished a solid 8-for-16 from the field. He was 4-for-11 with the three-ball and shot 6-for-7 at the line, wrapping up his day at the office with four rebounds and one block. The Raptors saw a few encouraging performances from Walter last season, but he needs to stay healthy to establish himself in the rotation. The 20-year-old missed the start of his rookie campaign due to a shoulder injury and made just 52 appearances in total.--Taavi PailkSource: ESPN

Cameron Young has a way of appearing in contention in majors. The American golfer came out of almost nowhere to win the Claret Jug at St. Andrews in 2022. Young finished one stroke off the lead then to Cameron Smith. Young had poor form early in 2025 but then rattled off a T-4 at the U.S. Open in June. Oakmont is far from an easy course to play. At +8000, Young has to be considered among longer betting options given his numbers at Liverpool in 2023 (T-8) as well. He can play steady golf even in the worst of conditions. Ranking 11th at 0.534 strokes gained when it comes to putting may help more this week than most. Reed must hit more greens, however. His greens in regulation stands at 62.82% which only ranks 155th.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Ajay Mitchell played a leading role in Tuesday's 92-75 Summer League victory over the Orlando Magic, recording a game-high 27 points with seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block. Mitchell had a hot hand throughout the game, shooting 9-for-13 from the field, including 1-for-2 from outside, and 8-for-9 at the free-throw line. The 23-year-old looked promising during his debut campaign in the NBA, but a toe injury interrupted Mitchell's 2024-25 campaign. He's now making up for lost time in the Summer League, having already made six appearances. In Las Vegas, Mitchell has averaged 19.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.--Taavi PailkSource: ESPN

Cameron Smith has played in three majors in 2025. The Australian golfer has missed the cut in each one. However, hope springs eternal for Smith. Anyway, he is listed at +11000 to win the Open Championship. Given his struggles, that may be conservative. Smith has had one dreadful round in each major this year which has kept him from seeing the weekend. He did win at St. Andrews in 2022 on a much more spread out golf course. With his ability to drive the ball, Smith has a chance if the weather cooperates. He did finish T-20 at Royal Portrush in 2019 but faltered badly with a Sunday 76 in poor conditions. Smith could be considered a volatile betting choice. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Making his first start since the U.S. Open, Jordan Spieth is returning to Royal Portrush having finished T20 in 2019. Given his late arrival this season after dealing with recovering from wrist surgery, he's put together a decent year with two top 5s, two top 10s, and four top 25s. His record in Open Championships is equally as impressive, although putting has become as big a liability as a strength in recent memory. The former Longhorn has lost strokes in two of his last three appearances. He's also lost strokes in three of his previous four starts at an average of -0.125. Still, the 31-year-old has solidified himself as one of the better links course players, especially from the States. Leaning into his history across the pond may not be a bad option, even at $10,400 on FanDuel.--Todd McGillSource: Data Golf

Philadelphia 76ers shooting guard VJ Edgecombe made his Las Vegas Summer League debut in Tuesday's matchup against the Washington Wizards, filling the box score in a blowout win. He notched 15 points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and one block in 30 minutes on the floor. Edgecombe missed Philadelphia's first two games in Las Vegas due to a left thumb sprain suffered during a Summer League contest in Salt Lake City on July 5. The 19-year-old Baylor product can be happy with his production on Tuesday, although Edgecombe was inefficient with his scoring, going 4-for-14 from the field, including 1-for-6 from downtown. All of his points came in the second half. Philadelphia faces the Dallas Mavericks in another Summer League contest on Wednesday, but it's uncertain if Edgecombe will play.--Taavi PailkSource: ESPN

Patrick Reed only plays the majors on the PGA Tour these days. However, the American golfer does not have nine career wins (including the 2018 Masters) by accident. Reed did finish T-3 at this year's opening major. He even rebounded from a poor start at the U.S. Open with a 71-70 to end up inside the Top 25. Reed has positive course history at Royal Portrush with a tenth in 2019. Reed was steady despite the conditions then as he posted three rounds of 71 and one 67. With less than optimal conditions expected this time, Reed's +8000 to win may not be quite as long of a shot. As with links golf, it can be sunny one minute and horizontal rain off the water the next. Reed's ability to stay in contention in majors is a huge asset. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Sungjae Im could be a true wildcard heading into The Open Championship. The golfer from South Korea has experienced a lot in his four appearances in the United Kingdom. Last year at Royal Troon, Im finished T-7 behind a strong 66-69 weekend. However, he has truly bottomed out since the PGA Championship where he missed the cut. Aside from a T-16 at the Memorial, the golfer has now missed consecutive cuts including last week at the Genesis Scottish Open. The largest concern with Im is approaching the green where he ranks 176th in strokes gained at -0.937. With very changeable conditions, Im's inability to keep balls on the green makes him difficult to consider as a betting option.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Philadelphia 76ers forward Dominick Barlow has been shut down for the remainder of the Summer League, per Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice.com. After signing a two-way contract with the 76ers, Barlow suited up twice for the team in Las Vegas. He notched 13.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 22.1 minutes. In 96 career NBA games, Barlow has averaged 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 12.5 minutes. He's been trying to find his footing in the league with the San Antonio Spurs and Atlanta Hawks. While his playing time in Philadelphia isn't guaranteed either, at just 22 years old, Barlow still has plenty of time to grow and improve his game.--Taavi PailkSource: Adam Aaronson

Coming off a T8 finish last week at the Scottish Open, Xander Schauffele makes the trip to Northern Ireland this week to hopefully become the first person since Padraig Harrington in 2008 to defend in golf's oldest championship. His play at The Renaissance Club started and ended with the irons, averaging +2.38 strokes gained on approach, which led the field. His overall stat line was eerily close to that of his Open win last year. One grave concern is that he has failed to gain anything on the greens over his previous two starts, but the flat stick has the potential to have its importance diminished in the right conditions. At $11,400 on FanDuel, Schauffele would be worth some consideration if his relatively uneventful season decreases ownership levels.--Todd McGillSource: Data Golf

Tony Finau knows that the trends are not with him. The American golfer took some time off after a final round 76 at The Travelers Championship late in June. Finau finished T-66 in that event and only has one Top 10 result in 2025. He has not played that badly but consistency has been a huge issue. While putting has always been hit or miss, his approach to the green was ranked second last year. Currently, strokes gained there ranks 88th. Even off the tee, Finau has dropped into the red (114th) along with his putting (137th). Greens in regulation is only 106th at 65.3%. Worse, sand saves are 160th at 50.55%. Finau may be a golfer to fade this weekend given the potential conditions at The Open Championship. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Forward Oshae Brissett has signed a two-year deal with six-time EuroLeague champions Maccabi Tel Aviv. Brissett takes his talents across the pond after featuring in merely six NBA games last season. He was picked up late in the year by the Philadelphia 76ers, who gave Brissett a look amid an injury crisis. The 27-year-old averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 23.7 minutes during his time in Philadelphia. Brissett won the Larry O'Brien Trophy with the Boston Celtics in 2024 and has averaged 6.6 points with 3.9 rebounds in 233 career NBA games.--Taavi PailkSource: Eurohoops

Daniel Brown was hopeful after a second round 66 at the Genesis Scottish Open. The English golfer made the cut and appeared poised to have a solid weekend. Unfortunately, that was not meant to be after a 73 and 72. The 281 on the Par-70 course had to be frustrating for the 30-year-old. Brown did finish in the Top 10 at the last Open Championship at Royal Troon after an opening round 65. However, many argue that Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland is a different beast. Getting off to a good start with a later tee time may be more of a challenge. Brown may face more windy, rainy conditions potentially and his form suggests a Royal Troon repeat may be unlikely. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Nearing the end of a historic season for Rory McIlroy, perhaps the event that's garnered the most attention from the 36-year-old kicks off on Thursday. It will be the fellow Northern Irishman's second crack at this course, having missed the cut in 2019. His length off the tee certainly gives him more scoring chances, so long as the long fescue doesn't come into play. Accuracy can reward players just as much, which is why we see the multitude of player types that have gotten the job done through the years. The ball striking as a whole needs to take better form, but +1.88 strokes gained putting average over his last two starts is worth taking a shot on. The stage wasn't too bright at Augusta, and don't expect it here either.--Todd McGillSource: Data Golf

The Charlotte Hornets have waived guard/forward Josh Okogie. Okogie had a $7.7 million contract for next season, which would have become guaranteed if he had remained with the Hornets past Tuesday. The 26-year-old moved to Charlotte in January as part of a trade that sent Nick Richards to Phoenix. He averaged 8.9 points and 1.8 steals per game with the team. Okogie had a decent stint with the Hornets, but unfortunately for him, the team did not see a role for him next season. Over 416 career games, Okogie has averaged 8.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 19.1 minutes. He is expected to attract decent interest from teams as a free agent.--Taavi PailkSource: NBA.com

Daniel Berger enjoyed a nice run early in the Spring that culminated in a T-3 at the RBC Heritage Open. The American golfer has struggled since the PGA Championship, missed a few cuts, and was outside the Top 50 last week at the Genesis Scottish Open. Berger just cannot make birdies the past few tournaments. His strokes gained to putting has dropped all the way to 138th on tour and is now -0.144. Royal Portrush may not be the most receptive to birdie opportunities but keep in mind Shane Lowry did shoot -15 in 2019. Putts per round is particularly troublesome for Berger. He averages 29.83 putts per opening round then 29.33 and 29.36. That may not be a recipe for success even in DFS formats or this Open Championship.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Athletics third base prospect Tommy White has enjoyed a productive first half with High-A Lansing. Through 57 contests, the 40th overall pick in last year's MLB Draft has held a .273/.339/.482 slash line with an .821 OPS. During this stretch, White hit 16 doubles, added 10 home runs, swiped three bags, and held a 31:19 K:BB. White was one of the most dominant hitters in the minor leagues in the first half as he posted a remarkable 19-game hitting streak in April. After being selected in last year's draft out of LSU, White reported to Low-A. Through 25 games in Stockton, White held a .224/.303/.299 slash line with just four total extra-base hits (two home runs) and a 21:9 K:BB. Given White's strong High-A debut, he could earn a taste of Double-A later in the second half.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Philadelphia Phillies infield prospect Aidan Miller swiped an impressive 34 bags throughout the first 69 games of the Double-A regular season. During this stretch, Miller posted a .234/.354/.379 slash line. He hit nine doubles, two triples, eight home runs, and held a 78:44 K:BB. However, he has begun to see his bat heat up, as evidenced by his .915 OPS, which includes two long balls and two doubles over his last 12 contests. Last season, the No. 21-ranked prospect in the sport on MLB.com spent most of his time playing between Low-A and High-A before earning a small look at Double-A over the final month. At Low-A and High-A, Miller held a .267/.375/.463 line with 28 doubles, 11 long balls, and 21 stolen bases in 97 games. If Miller can continue to find his swing, he should be in the mix to reach Triple-A later this season.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Pittsburgh Pirates infield prospect Termarr Johnson has posted an underwhelming .176/.263/.306 slash line with one double and two stolen bases. During this stretch, he has struck out eight times and drawn three walks. Through 78 total games with Double-A Altoona this season, the former fourth overall pick from the 2022 MLB Draft has held a .247/.329/.3775 slash line with nine doubles, two triples, eight home runs, and 12 stolen bases. Johnson received a brief taste of Double-A at the end of the 2024 campaign and held a similar .229/.316/.396 line with two long balls across 14 games. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 21-year-old's progression as he could be in line to earn a similar taste of Triple-A at the end of this season. However, given his modest production, the Pirates may opt to keep him with Double-A to continue his development.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Cleveland Guardians second base prospect Travis Bazzana (oblique) went 1-for-3 with two runs, two walks, and two strikeouts during his rehab game on Tuesday in the Arizona Complex League. In the opening frame, he hit a leadoff double against left-hander Blake Snell, who was also on a rehab assignment. Bazzana reported to Cleveland's ACL affiliate on July 5 for his assignment and held a .222/.462/.333 slash line with two doubles, two RBI, and an 8:4 K:BB. The Guardians are gradually increasing Bazzana's workload. As a result, fantasy managers should not expect him to return to Double-A for at least another week. Before his injury, last year's first overall pick held a .252/.362/.433 line with five doubles and four home runs through his first 33 games with Double-A. Bazzana remains a top dynasty asset at the keystone despite his injury-riddled campaign.--Andy SmithSource: Cleveland Guardians

Philadelphia Phillies catching prospect Eduardo Tait has continued to enjoy a strong season with Low-A Clearwater. Through his first eight games in July, the No. 7-ranked catcher in minor leagues on MLB.com has held a .241/.333/414 line with two doubles, a home run, and seven RBI. Through 73 total games, the No. 4-ranked prospect in Philadelphia has held a .254/.328/.445 line with 19 doubles, a triple, and 11 home runs. He has yet to swipe a bag and has posted a solid 64:30 K:BB. Last summer, Tait received a brief look at the Low-A level and held a similar .269/.316/.462 slash line with five doubles and five home runs across 28 games. If Tait can continue to show improvements at Low-A, he should be in the mix to join High-A later in the second half.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com

Seattle Mariners catching prospect Harry Ford hit a bit of a slump through the start of July at Triple-A Tacoma. The budding backstop has held a modest .206/.341/.353 slash line with two doubles and a long ball across eight games. However, during June, Ford held a much higher .263/.380/.406 line with five doubles, two home runs, and 15 RBI through 20 games. After spending the entire 2024 campaign at the Double-A level, the No. 5-ranked prospect in the system was given the nod to open the 2025 campaign with Triple-A. Through 69 games, Ford has posted a strong .292/.409/.446 slash line with 14 doubles, nine home runs, and four stolen bases. While he did join the Seattle taxi squad for a few days in June, he never appeared in an MLB contest. However, given his impressive first half, he should earn his true debut in the coming weeks.--Andy SmithSource: MiLB.com
