Jake Mangum Reinstated From 10-Day Injured List
Jake Mangum (groin) from the 10-day injured list. In a corresponding move, the Rays optioned outfield prospect Chandler Simpson to Triple-A Durham. Mangum has been sidelined since April 24 with a left groin strain. Prior to the injury, the 29-year-old had posted a .338/.384/.397 slash line with eight stolen bases across 21 contests. Mangum generated a strong .283 xBA and struck out at a mere 9.3% rate, which are both well above the average marks. However, he generated a low 41.0% hard-hit rate and a 3.3% barrel rate. He also showed strong speed upside, placing in the 90th percentile in sprint speed. With Simpson being sent to Triple-A, fantasy managers should expect Mangum to have close to an everyday role in left field.Source: Marc Topkin
The Tampa Bay Rays have reinstated outfielder Josh Bell Hits Another Home Run
Josh Bell went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Seattle Mariners. He also singled. The Nats and Mariners took a 2-2 tie into the top of the tenth inning when Washington would drop seven runs. Bell capped it with a three-run bomb off Seattle reliever Collin Snider that traveled 386 feet. That marks back-to-back outings with a homer for the veteran and back-to-back multi-hit efforts. Those are both feats he'd yet to accomplish in 2025, and he's been better overall in May, sporting a .233 average with four homers, one double, six RBI, and six runs scored (14-for-60).Source: ESPN
Washington Nationals designated hitter Chandler Simpson Optioned to Triple-A
Chandler Simpson to Triple-A Durham. In a corresponding move, the Rays activated outfielder Jake Mangum (groin) from the 10-day injured list. Simpson was given the call to the majors in April. Through his first 35 MLB contests, the No. 7-ranked prospect in the Tampa Bay system posted a .285/.315/.317 slash line with four doubles, 11 RBI, and an impressive 19 stolen bases. His 19 stolen bases are currently the third-highest total in the American League. Under the hood, he has generated an elite .305 xBA and only struck out at a 10.5% rate. At Triple-A this season, Simpson swiped eight bags in 17 contests. With Simpson being optioned, fantasy managers should expect Mangum to see time in left field and for Christopher Morel to see more opportunities in the starting nine.Source: Marc Topkin
The Tampa Bay Rays have optioned outfield prospect Josue Briceno Hits Three Home Runs on Thursday
Josue Briceno went 4-for-4 with a double, three home runs, a stolen base, and five RBI. This was his first four-hit game of the season. Over the last week, Briceno has enjoyed a productive surge at the plate. In his last seven games, the 20-year-old backstop has held a .444/.583/1.389 slash line with two doubles and five home runs. Through 34 games at High-A this season, Briceno has posted a .268/.383/.610 line with 11 total home runs. Briceno is on track to enjoy a career season from a power perspective. Last summer, the No. 81-ranked prospect in the sport spent his time at Low-A and posted a .278/.381/.377 line. If Briceno continues to hit for high power, he could be in the mix to reach Double-A during the second half of the season.Source: MiLB.com

MacKenzie Gore Continues to Dazzle in 2025
MacKenzie Gore continues to showcase his ace potential thus far in 2025. In his start Thursday night against the Seattle Mariners, he punched out eight batters in six innings of work, allowing only four hits and no runs. He left the ball game with the Nationals up 2-0, and they proceeded to cough up the lead as soon as he left the game. They would eventually win 9-3 in extra innings, as the Nationals' offense exploded in the top of the tenth, scoring seven runs. Gore now owns an impressive 36.3 percent strikeout rate (97th percentile), 34.7 percent whiff rate (95th percentile), a 3.16 ERA, and a 1.20 WHIP. Based on his 200.0 ADP, according to NFBC, Gore has been an absolute steal for fantasy managers and remains a must-start with elite strikeout upside.Source: ESPN
Washington Nationals left-hander Jose Berrios Lights-Out Against the Athletics
Jose Berrios (2-2) earned the win on Thursday as the Blue Jays went on to win 12-0 over the Athletics. Berrios brought his best stuff, as he worked six innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, two walks, while punching out nine batters. This was Berrios' best start of the season, and he has now provided the Blue Jays with three straight quality starts. The brilliant outing lowered his season ERA to 3.86, and he now owns a 1.30 WHIP. He remains a middle-of-the-pack fantasy option for fantasy managers, as most of his actual numbers and advanced metrics rank league average across the board. The former 2012 first-round pick is slated to take on a tough Philadelphia Phillies squad in his next matchup, which is tentatively lined up for Wednesday at home.Source: ESPN

Bryce Miller Returning to the Starting Rotation Saturday
Bryce Miller (elbow) is expected to make his return from the injured list and start Saturday's game against the Minnesota Twins, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports. Miller was put on the injured list May 14 with elbow inflammation, and it seems the Mariners will opt out of requiring a rehab assignment for him and immediately plug him back into the rotation. It's unclear if the 26-year-old will have any workload limitations Saturday, but fantasy managers should consider that as they decide whether or not to start him. Miller will take on a Twins offense that's struggled a bit lately as he tries to improve his 5.22 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 35:21 K:BB on the season. Miller will take Logan Evans' spot in the rotation, as the Mariners optioned Evans to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.Source: Shannon Drayer
Seattle Mariners young right-hander Cristopher Sanchez Strikes out Five in No-Decision
Cristopher Sanchez was saddled with a no-decision in his team's 5-4 win in their first game of a doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves. The Dominican Republic native yielded seven hits and two earned runs -- striking out five and walking two over 5 2/3 innings of work. Sanchez again did well to limit the damage against him, and has been exceptional for the most part this season. Still, fantasy managers might quibble that he's lacking in the win column -- stuck at 4-1 despite three earned runs or fewer and two quality starts across his last four outings. He'll carry a strong 3.32 ERA and slightly inflated 1.31 WHIP with a 70:22 K:BB ratio (59 2/3 innings) into his next start -- a road matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays next week,Source: ESPN
Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Kyle Schwarber Keeps Raking
Kyle Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in his team's 5-4 win over the Atlanta Braves. The Phillies and their rivals split the doubleheader on Thursday, with the Braves taking the latter half of the twin-billing 9-3. Schwarber was held hitless through his first three at-bats of the first outing, but continued his sensational season with long ball No. 19 off Atlanta reliever Aaron Bummer in the bottom of the seventh. The former first-round pick golfed a hanging curveball 438 feet into the upper deck in right field to give Philadelphia a 4-2 lead. He's been excellent in 2025 -- tied for second in the league with his home run total, and slashing a robust .252/.394/.569.Source: ESPN
Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Ernie Clement Drives in Five in Lopsided Win
Ernie Clement went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI in Thursday's 12-0 win against the visiting Athletics. The former fourth-round pick added a single and a double to notch his third three-hit performance of the month. It didn't take long for Clement (or Toronto's lineup) to get going -- driving in the Jays' first three runs of the game with his second dinger of the season off A's pitcher Jacob Lopez in the bottom of the second. Later in the inning, he knocked in two more with a screamer of a double to cap off an eight-run outburst. He's boosted his average exit velocity a bit in 2025, though it still puts him in the bottom 13% of batters (87.0 MPH). As of now, it doesn't appear that he'll challenge the career-high of 12 homers he set last year.Source: ESPN
Toronto Blue Jays infielder Junior Caminero Boosts Rays with Six RBI
Junior Caminero went 3-for-6 with a home run and six RBI in Thursday's 13-3 win against the Houston Astros. The righty slugger added a single, a double, and two runs scored. Caminero's homer -- his eleventh of the year -- was a three-run blast, leaving the bat at 103.5 MPH off reliever Bryan King that gave Tampa Bay a five-run lead in the top of the seventh. However, that wasn't his hardest hit ball of the day. That came an inning later when he doubled in Josh Lowe and Brandon Lowe (111.5 MPH). The 21-year-old has registered five multi-hit efforts in his last seven outings with three homers in the stretch -- and two in as many days. He has improved overall in 2025, but with five of his 11 doubles coming over the last six days, it appears he's beginning to heat up.Source: ESPN
