Jose Berrios Lights-Out Against the Athletics
Jose Berrios (2-2) earned the win on Thursday as the Blue Jays went on to win 12-0 over the Athletics. Berrios brought his best stuff, as he worked six innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, two walks, while punching out nine batters. This was Berrios' best start of the season, and he has now provided the Blue Jays with three straight quality starts. The brilliant outing lowered his season ERA to 3.86, and he now owns a 1.30 WHIP. He remains a middle-of-the-pack fantasy option for fantasy managers, as most of his actual numbers and advanced metrics rank league average across the board. The former 2012 first-round pick is slated to take on a tough Philadelphia Phillies squad in his next matchup, which is tentatively lined up for Wednesday at home.
