Joey Bosa Logs Limited Session
Source: Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers outside linebacker Joey Bosa (hip) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday to open the week. Bosa has dealt with a litany of injuries over the last four seasons -- the most recent of which prevented him from suiting up since he played just two snaps back in Week 3. It's his first practice in any capacity since he logged a limited session the Friday before LA's 23-16 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 6. An encouraging sign for him and the Chargers' defense. Still, the oft-injured 29-year-old will require monitoring ahead of the team's Week 8 home tilt against the New Orleans Saints. If he is forced to miss yet another game, edge-rushers Tuli Tuipulotu and Bud Dupree and linebacker Junior Colson project to continue to see an uptick in snaps. Will Dissly, Hayden Hurst Listed As DNP
Los Angeles Chargers tight ends Will Dissly (shoulder) and Hayden Hurst (groin) were both listed as non-participants for Wednesday's practice. Hurst suffered a groin injury in the team's Week 6 victoryread more...
DJ Chark Limited Again Wednesday
DJ Chark (groin) was again listed as limited in his team's first practice of the week. It's Chark's fourth straight limited session since the Chargers activated his 21-day practice window last Wednesday. The 28-year-old was placed on Injured Reserve just one day before the team's season opener. He may return to the field this Sunday when LA squares off against the visiting New Orleans Saints. The Chargers could certainly stand to use him, considering fellow wideouts Ladd McConkey (hip), Quentin Johnston (ankle), and Derius Davis (ankle) were all tagged with DNPs on Wednesday, as were tight ends Will Dissly (shoulder) and Hayden Hurst (groin). LA could be looking at a severely depleted pass-catching corps if things don't change in short order. Expect a better indication of Chark's status for Week 8 over the coming days.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston Miss Practice On Wednesday
Ladd McConkey (hip) and Quentin Johnston (ankle) were both tagged with DNPs on Wednesday to open the week. Johnston was listed as doubtful heading into Week 7 but was eventually ruled out and has yet to practice in any capacity since picking up an ankle injury in the team's 23-16 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 6. McConkey's hip ailment occurred in Week 6, but he played 57 snaps in the contest (86%). It's possible this was just a maintenance day for the early second-round pick, so look for his practice participation later this week to hint at his Sunday status. With wideout Derius Davis (hamstring) also not practicing Wednesday, Joshua Palmer, Simi Fehoko, and Brenden Rice are the only receivers without a designation on the active roster at the position.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receivers Chargers Defense Has Nondescript Game In Week 7 Loss
Source: ESPN.com
The Los Angeles Chargers defense had a pedestrian performance in a Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. They allowed 17 points and recorded one interception, but no sacks and no other turnovers. In a standard DST scoring league, the Bolts defensive unit put up just three fantasy points. They looked like they left quite a few points on the field and were a play here or a bounce there away from a much stronger performance. They'll be a solid option again in Week 8 when the Chargers face off against the New Orleans Saints.Cameron Dicker Scores Every Chargers Point In Week 7
Cameron Dicker made every Chargers point in a 15-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. Dicker attempted five field goals, making all five of them. He didn't get a chance to kick an extra point as the Chargers were allergic to the end zone in this game. Dicker set a career long and tied a Chargers franchise record with a 59-yard field goal in the first quarter. He followed that up with field goals from 50, 28, 47, and 40 yards out. It was an excellent real life and fantasy performance for "Dicker the Kicker", especially in leagues with distance bonuses. He'll get another good matchup in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints.Source: ESPN.com
Los Angeles Chargers kicker Simi Fehoko Makes Three Catches In Week 7
Simi Fehoko made three catches in a Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He was targeted six times, making the three catches for 45 yards. Fehoko also drew a clear pass interference penalty near the end of the fourth quarter that was not called for some reason no one without a Cardinals jersey understood. Fehoko remains a special teams player on the Chargers, but he's been seeing more work on offense and has made some solid plays in the past couple of weeks. He's not a fantasy option right now, but he might develop into a fringe FLEX option in deeper leagues if the Chargers wide receiving corps suffers some injuries later in the season.Source: ESPN.com
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey Makes Five Catches In A Week 7 Loss
Ladd McConkey made five catches in a Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. McConkey ended up with seven targets and five catches, both good for second-most on the team behind tight end Will Dissly. He gained 46 yards, which was third highest. McConkey had a slow first half before turning it on a bit in the second half and ending up with a decent enough fantasy performance. With the Chargers throwing the ball more often, McConkey could have his fantasy arrow pointing up when the Bolts face the New Orleans Saints in Week 8.Source: ESPN.com
Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Joshua Palmer Makes Four Catches In Week 7 Loss
Joshua Palmer made four catches in a Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Palmer was targeted five times, making the four catches for 63 yards. One of Palmer's grabs was a beautiful toe-tap catch on the sideline that ended up being his biggest gain. Palmer came into the season with a lot of hype, but this was the most targets, yards, and catches for him so far this season. He could have some better games coming up if the Chargers continue throwing the ball more often, but Palmer still hasn't shown anything to warrant making it into fantasy starting lineups.Source: ESPN.com
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Will Dissly Leads The Chargers In All Receiving Categories In Week 7
Will Dissly led the Chargers in all receiving categories in a Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Dissly was targeted 11 times, making eight catches for 81 yards. Those numbers were all good for first place in each category, as the next most targeted Charger (Ladd McConkey) saw seven balls thrown his way, making five catches. Dissly had made 13 catches all season entering this game, but he saw heavy targets as the Chargers tried to not rely on their running game for the first real time this season (it didn't work). Despite not scoring a touchdown, this might end up being Dissly's best fantasy performance of the season. Chasing points with him in Week 8 against the Saints is not likely a recommended strategy.Source: ESPN.com
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Kimani Vidal Gets Four Touches In Week 7
Kimani Vidal got four touches in a Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Vidal ran the ball three times, gaining a total of 10 yards and made a catch on his only passing game target, gaining nine yards through the air. Vidal got a lot of hype after his Week 6 performance but is still clearly far behind starter J.K. Dobbins in the Chargers backfield. He's a top-tier direct backup but likely won't have much value on his own as long as Dobbins stays on the field. The Chargers face the New Orleans Saints in a Week 8 game on Sunday.Source: ESPN.com
Los Angeles Chargers rookie running back J.K. Dobbins Puts Up 66 Yards In Week 7 Loss
J.K. Dobbins struggled to find room in a Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Dobbins ran the ball 14 times, gaining 40 yards with a long of 11. He was targeted three times in the passing game, making all three catches for a total of 26 yards. Dobbins remained the clear starter in this backfield, as he got 17 touches and every other Chargers running back combined for just six. As long as he stays healthy, he'll remain "the guy" for the Chargers running game, which makes him an RB1/2 depending on the matchup. Week 8 awaits with a Sunday game against the New Orleans Saints.Source: ESPN.com
Los Angeles Chargers running back Justin Herbert Has His First 300-Yard Game Of The Season
Justin Herbert had his first 300-yard game of the season in a Week 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Herbert threw the ball 39 times, completing 27 passes. The attempts and completions were also season highs for Herbert, and it was also the first game where the Chargers focused far more on passing the ball than on running it. Despite the solid passing game, Herbert didn't find the end zone (partly because of an inexcusably awful fumble by Jalen Reagor), which kept him from putting up a particularly strong fantasy performance. Still, it was a mostly encouraging performance from Herbert and the Los Angeles passing game, who will take on the Saints on Sunday in Week 8.Source: ESPN.com
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Hayden Hurst Inactive On Monday Night
Hayden Hurst (groin) is officially inactive for the Monday night game against the Arizona Cardinals after he was listed as doubtful on Saturday's final injury report. Hurst didn't practice all week and will now hope to return for a Week 8 contest versus the New Orleans Saints this Sunday. The 31-year-old has been a TE2 in fantasy, at best, so far in his first year with the Chargers. Through his first five games in 2024, he has only six receptions on 10 targets for 59 yards and no touchdowns in a run-first offense. With Hurst sidelined on Monday night against Arizona, expect Will Dissly to be a little more involved in the passing attack at the tight end position. At best, Dissly will be a deep DFS sleeper at the position.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Joey Bosa Out Again On Monday Night
Kyler Murray.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers outside linebacker Joey Bosa (hip) is officially inactive for the Monday night clash against the Arizona Cardinals in the desert. Bosa was unable to practice all week and will miss his third straight game after injuring his hip in the Week 3 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 29-year-old oft-injured pass-rusher will now hope to make progress later this week in order to give himself a shot to play again this Sunday for a Week 8 battle against the New Orleans Saints. Despite Bosa's injury, the Chargers' defense has remained stout and they have allowed the fewest points per game (13.2) to this point in the season. Things might be more difficult on Monday without Bosa, though, against mobile quarterback
