After a strong start to the season that included two runner-up finishes, a T3, and only one missed cut, J.J. Spaun has gone cold with his irons over his last two starts (averaging minus-0.51 strokes gained on approach). That isn't a huge drop in performance for such a small sample size, but the fact that he was nearly leading the tour in this stat before the fall off is where the concern lies. The 34-year-old ranks outside the top 70 in every other strokes gained metric, and while he has been accurate hitting into greens (18th in GIR Percentage: 69.77%), it hasn't translated to the tee. Considering everything working against him and the leaky oil situation in his approach game, Spaun is a prime candidate to avoid this week.--Todd McGillSource: Data Golf

Harris English is as ready as he will ever be for the 2025 Truist Championship. The American golfer won already in 2025 (Farmers Insurance Open) and had three Top 30 results in a row before a slight wobble at the RBC Heritage. After some rest, English looks poised to recapture his form. Oddsmakers seem to disagree listing him at +9000 on DraftKings. The Wissahickon course in Philadelphia can be demanding even as a Par-70. It may only be 7,119 yards but greens should get faster on the weekend with sun in the forecast. Expect the roughs to be rougher initially which could put a crimp in English's chances. If he can putt well on Thursday and Friday, English could be a sneaky wager inside the Top 20 (+210). --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Aside from a missed cut at the team event in New Orleans, Si Woo Kim has been playing well over the last few events. He finished T15 at TPC Craig Ranch this past week and placed T8 at Harbour Town a few weeks ago. The worry lies with the flat stick, as Kim ranks 135th in strokes gained putting (-0.232) and has only gained strokes in this metric in one of his last six starts. The South Korean is still one of the premier players outside of that scope, ranking 19th in strokes gained tee to green (+0.937). For a setup that will likely resemble major championship strength due to difficult putting surfaces and tight landing areas, scores need to stay modest for him to have a real opportunity. But his overall game is in a place where taking a chance is worth it.--Todd McGillSource: PGA Tour

Sam Burns comes in with the hottest stick, err putter, on tour. The American golfer now ranks number one in strokes gained at 0.958. That includes a putting average, one-putt percentage, and putts per round all inside the Top 20. Now, this is the good news. The bad lies in his approach to the green and scrambling from the rough. Burns ranks outside the Top 150 in both metrics. Wissahickon has some nasty holes with gnarly rough. Burns may have to watch his drives too as he ranks 96th in driving accuracy at 59.49%. Burns lies in the middle around +5000 at most sportsbooks, including DraftKings. Burns will have to make his shots and watch out for the rain which could be a factor Thursday and Friday. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Keegan Bradley is starting to look like he could be a factor at the Truist Championship. The American golfer will not have it easy. Bradley had the case of the yips a couple weeks ago as a 72 knocked him back a few pegs. However, he did score a Top 20 at the RBC Heritage. A little rest expects to do him some good as Philadelphia looms. Bradley finished T-2 behind Max Homa in 2022 and likes the course setup. Again, this may be a course that comes down to putting on the weekend for Bradley. Putts per round ranks 84th at 28.55 but the 30.67% birdie or better conversion percentage comes in at 125th. It has impacted his birdie and scoring average which come in around tour average (97th and 100th respectively). For DFS purposes, the putter is again the key here.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Akshay Bhatia had been a bit up-and-down of late. However, the American golfer has had more down results in the Spring. That includes a couple of missed cuts and outside Top 40 results. Bhatia took last week off after missing the cut in New Orleans. He does have three Top 10 finishes in 2025 including a T-3 at The Players Championship. The Par-70 course in Philadelphia features some heavy hitters including Rory McIlroy (four-time winner). Bhatia is average at driving with good accuracy (40th) and 292.3 yard average drives (162nd). Bhatia will have to be consistent in all four rounds putting-wise to thrive in Philadelphia this week.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Coming off a T33 at TPC Craig Ranch last week, Sungjae Im is making the start in Pennsylvania this week and hoping to curb momentum in his favor before the year's second major. Finishes have been oddly sporadic this year, as the approach play has been a constant struggle, ranking 177th in strokes gained on approach (-0.780). However, things are slowly beginning to take form in that area, and he ranks 9th in strokes gained around the green (+0.448), 21st in strokes gained off the tee (+0.451), and 36th in strokes gained putting (+0.342). At a fresh venue rumored to be much more focused on accuracy off the tee and strong putting on extremely undulating surfaces, Im may be a decent option at $10,500 on FanDuel.--Todd McGillSource: PGA Tour

While never a name anyone would be foolish enough to overlook, especially not ahead of a major championship, Ludvig Aberg hasn't been the same forceful player we saw in 2024. Sure, he captured a win at the Genesis in February, but performances overall have left much to be desired. Putting has been the biggest hurdle, as four of the nine events this season where he's gained strokes have all resulted in top 25 finishes or better. The flipside of that in the other five events has left him struggling to make cuts. At $11,900 on FanDuel, Aberg doesn't feel as much like the must-play option he was a year ago. --Todd McGillSource: Data Golf

Sepp Straka finished tied for 13th at the RBC Heritage three weeks ago and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Truist Championship, which will be held at The Philadelphia Cricket Club. So far this season, Straka has one win, eight top-15 finishes, and he has only missed the cut twice in 13 starts. Over the past 12 months, Straka ranks in the 98th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is significant because the Wissahickon Course at The Philadelphia Cricket Club features nine par-4s that are under 450 yards. Straka could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Adam Scott finished T49 at the RBC Heritage three weeks ago and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Truist Championship, which will be held at The Philadelphia Cricket Club. Scott has been inconsistent at times this season and has missed the cut in two of his nine starts. He has only two top-25 finishes, both of which occurred early in the season. Over the past 12 months, Scott ranks in the 49th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is worth mentioning because the Wissahickon Course at The Philadelphia Cricket Club features nine Par-4s that are under 450 yards. Including Scott in DFS lineups this week carries some risk.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Keith Mitchell finished tied for second at the Corales Puntacana Championship three weeks ago and is now preparing for this week's Truist Championship at The Philadelphia Cricket Club. He withdrew from the CJ Cup Byron Nelson last week but received the final sponsor exemption for this week. This season, Mitchell has six top-25 finishes and has only missed the cut once in 11 starts. Over the past 12 months, he ranks in the 39th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is important because the Wissahickon Course at The Philadelphia Country Club features nine Par-4s under 450 yards. While Mitchell could be a solid addition to DFS lineups this week, including him does carry some risk.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Hideki Matsuyama finished tied for 21st place at last month's Masters Tournament and is now shifting his focus to this week's Truist Championship, which will be held at The Philadelphia Cricket Club. Matsuyama has had an impressive season so far with five top-25 finishes and one win in his 10 starts. Over the past 12 months, he ranks in the 72nd percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is noteworthy because the Wissahickon Course at The Philadelphia Cricket Club features nine Par-4s that are under 450 yards. Matsuyama could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Viktor Hovland finished tied for 13th at the RBC Heritage three weeks ago and is now focusing on preparing for the Truist Championship at The Philadelphia Cricket Club this week. So far this season, Hovland has three top-25 finishes and one win in nine starts, although he has also missed the cut in four of those tournaments. Over the past 12 months, he ranks in the 90th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is significant because the Wissahickon Course at The Philadelphia Country Club features nine par-4s that are under 450 yards. Hovland may be a strong addition to DFS lineups this week, but including him carries some risk.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Ben Griffin finished tied for 40th at the Valero Texas Open last month and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Truist Championship at The Philadelphia Cricket Club. So far this year, he has four top-20 finishes and one win in 15 starts. Over the past 12 months, Griffin ranks in the 82nd percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is relevant because the Wissahickon Course at The Philadelphia Cricket Club features nine par-4 holes under 450 yards. Griffin could be a strong addition to DFS lineups this week.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Jason Day finished tied for 49th at the RBC Heritage three weeks ago and will now focus on preparing for this week's Truist Championship, held at The Philadelphia Cricket Club. Day has five top-15 finishes this season and hasn't missed the cut in any of his 10 starts. Over the past 12 months, Day ranks in the 88th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from 100-150 yards in the fairway. This is particularly relevant because the Wissahickon Course at The Philadelphia Cricket Club has nine Par-4s that are under 450 yards. Day could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf
