Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder
Corbin Carroll (wrist) will start taking dry swings on Tuesday, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Carroll was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 24 with a chip fracture in his left wrist. While it's a good sign that he's already going to start swinging a bat this week, the 24-year-old former National League Rookie of the Year still has a ways to go and isn't going to be ready to rejoin the big-league roster when the second half of the season kicks off on July 18. The former first-rounder should be stashed in an IL spot in all fantasy leagues as one of the best all-around fantasy assets in the game. Before his injury, he was slashing .255/.341/.573 with a .914 OPS, 20 home runs, 44 RBI, 57 runs and 10 steals in 286 at-bats.
Randal Grichuk and
Jake McCarthy will platoon in right field in the desert until Carroll returns.

Baltimore Orioles left-hander
Cade Povich (hip) is dealing with more left-hip soreness and has been pulled off of his minor-league rehab assignment, according to The Baltimore Banner's Andy Kostka. The next step for Povich is to be determined. The setback essentially means that Povich will not be a candidate to rejoin Baltimore's starting rotation before the mid-July All-Star break. The 25-year-old southpaw threw 75 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk last Thursday but apparently didn't recover well from that outing and will now be given some time to rest. Brandon Young will make another spot start against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday and could stick around in the big leagues up until the All-Star break now that Povich has had a setback. Povich has increased his strikeout rate and lowered his walk rate in his second big-league season but still sports an ERA over 5.00.

Baltimore Orioles infielder
Jorge Mateo (elbow, hamstring) was pulled from his minor-league rehab game on Sunday night with Triple-A Norfolk due to a hamstring injury, according to The Baltimore Banner's Andy Kostka. The team continues to evaluate his hamstring and doesn't know the severity just yet. The 30-year-old initially landed on the 10-day injured list with inflammation in his left elbow and had gone 6-for-13 with a home run, four RBI and two stolen bases in his four rehab games with Norfolk. Depending on the severity of Mateo's hamstring injury, he might not be able to return from the IL until after the mid-July All-Star break on July 18. The Dominican infielder really is only fantasy relevant in AL-only leagues when he's healthy for his speed as a backup infielder for the O's. He's gone 11-for-61 (.180) on the year with a homer, three RBI, seven runs and 14 stolen bases.

Baltimore Orioles outfielder
Tyler O'Neill (shoulder) is reporting to Triple-A Norfolk on his minor-league rehab assignment, and the Orioles think he could be reinstated from the 10-day injured list on their current road trip, which ends this Sunday, July 6. In six rehab games, O'Neill has gone 4-for-18 with a home run and nine strikeouts as he rehabs from a left-shoulder injury that he suffered in early June. The 30-year-old Canadian has had a miserable first year in Baltimore to this point, playing in only 24 games and going 15-for-80 (.188) at the plate with two home runs, 10 RBI, two steals and 27 strikeouts in 93 trips to the plate. When he does come off the IL, O'Neill should see regular playing time for the O's in left field as he tries to stay on the field and turn things around offensively. O'Neill has two 30-homer seasons in his career, with one of them coming in 2024 with the Boston Red Sox.

Baltimore Orioles infielder
Jordan Westburg (finger) said his injured left index finger won't be 100 percent for a while, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko. Westburg is shooting for "good enough," though, and is hoping to return to the starting lineup in a day or two. The 26-year-old infielder aggravated his finger injury in Friday's series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays and hasn't played since. It's not great news for his fantasy managers, but Westburg was able to swing a bat on Sunday and could be back in the starting lineup as the series against the Rangers in Texas continues on Tuesday. Ramon Urias will continue to start at the hot corner for Baltimore. Westburg has only played in 36 games in 2025 due to injuries and is hitting just .228 (31-for-136) with seven homers after hitting a career-high 18 long balls in 2024.

Cade Povich (hip) suffered a setback during his minor-league rehab start. The 26-year-old Young hasn't fared well in his first three starts with Baltimore, allowing 10 earned runs on 16 hits (two homers) while walking nine and 11 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings. However, Young could easily turn things around against a Rangers offense that has the third-lowest OPS (.657) in baseball. Still, he'll be a volatile and shaky deep-league streaming option.

Charlie Morton (elbow) will have his next start pushed back to Friday in Atlanta against the Braves due to low-grade elbow tendinitis, according to MASN's Roch Kubatko. Rookie right-hander
Brandon Young will make the start on Tuesday, his fourth in the big leagues, against the Texas Rangers. If the 41-year-old Morton is cleared to go by Friday, he'll be a pretty risky fantasy option despite facing off against a Braves team that has struggled to score runs in 2025. Morton does have 77 strikeouts in 72 innings pitched over his 18 outings (12 starts) this year, but he's also sporting a 5.63 ERA (4.42 FIP) and 1.57 WHIP in 72 innings pitched. The veteran hurler was better in five starts in June, though, allowing over three earned runs in an outing just once while striking out 32 and walking eight in 25 innings.

Casey Schmitt (hand) is expected to be placed on the injured list, according to Alex Pavlovic. Schmitt has missed each of the last five games due to bone bruise in his left wrist. The MRI came back negative, but it sounds like Schmitt is likely still headed for a stint on the IL.
Tyler Fitzgerald currently has a locker in the Giants clubhouse, so it's assumed Schmitt is going to the shelf.
Wilmer Flores has been seeing more time at first base while
Christian Koss gets more action at the hot corner. Fitzgerald figures to come off the bench and give those two a break while Schmitt recovers.

Yanquiel Fernandez is reportedly set to be recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. According to Patrick Lyons, Fernandez is set to join the Rockies roster ahead of Tuesday's game against the Houston Astros. The 22-year-old prospect is hitting .284/.347/.502 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI across 64 games in Triple-A this season. Fernandez has some serious power with two 20-plus home run seasons during his minor league career. He should have some fun hitting in Coors Field, but there might be some growing pains in the beginning. Fernandez is at least worth a look in deep leagues, assuming he gets regular playing time in Colorado.

Texas Rangers starting pitcher
Tyler Mahle (shoulder) is dealing with a rotator-cuff strain, according to Rangers' president of baseball operations Chris Young. Mahle was placed on the injured list on June 12 due to shoulder soreness. It seems like a fairly significant injury that has stopped Mahle from throwing for now. The team is having Mahle rest right now, so his return to the mound isn't on the horizon. There is no timetable for his return, but some point in July seems possible.

Austin Wells (finger) won't be available for Monday or Tuesday's game due to a circulation issue in his finger. Wells underwent testing to rule out any blood clots and those came back negative. The team plans to give him a few days to rest, but expect Wells back in the lineup on Wednesday. This could result in a trip to the injured list if the injury doesn't get better.
