Jesus Made Racks up Four Hits on Wednesday
Jesus Made continued to swing a hot bat at High-A Wisconsin. On Wednesday evening during their contest against High-A Quad Cities, Made went 4-for-5 with an RBI. Over his last 12 games, Made has posted an impressive .367/.426/.571 slash line with five doubles, one triple, one home run, and two stolen bases. Through his first 18 total games at the High-A level, the No. 7-ranked prospect in the sport has looked very comfortable, boasting a .347/.420/.569 line with six doubles, two home runs, and two stolen bases. Earlier in the season, Made posted a .261/.373/.388 line across 83 games at Low-A. Despite being several seasons away from his MLB debut, Made is a top stash option in dynasty leagues as he continues to climb prospect boards, despite being only 18 years old.Source: MiLB.com
Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect Nolan McLean Picks up Third-Straight Win in Dominant Victory
Nolan McLean picked up his third straight victory in his third career start on Wednesday evening during their contest against the Phillies. In this outing, the right-hander tossed eight shutout innings and allowed only four hits. He did not walk a batter and punched out six. The No. 3-ranked prospect in the Mets system has been nothing short of dominant since joining the rotation earlier this month. Through his first three starts in Queens, McLean has logged 20 1/3 innings to a near-perfect 0.89 ERA and a 0.69 WHIP. Earlier in the summer, the 24-year-old enjoyed great success splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A, holding an overall 2.45 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP across 133 2/3 innings. He remains a must-start pitcher in all formats for the foreseeable future.Source: MLB.com
New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect Luis Morales Extends Impressive Start to MLB Career
Luis Morales continued to impress during his victory over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday evening. In his fourth MLB start (and fifth MLB appearance), the right-hander logged seven shutout innings with just two hits against one of the top offenses in the sport. In this start, Morales struck out a career-high seven hitters while serving up just two walks. Through his first 22 2/3 innings in the big leagues, the No. 80-ranked prospect in the sport according to MLB.com has posted an elite 1.19 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP. Earlier in the summer, Morales was not as successful at Triple-A, posting a much higher 4.40 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP. Given his near-dominant start to his career, he remains a solid option heading into his next projected start against the St. Louis Cardinals.Source: MLB.com
Athletics right-handed pitching prospect Bubba Chandler Dominant in Second MLB Outing
Bubba Chandler was sharp in his second MLB outing on Wednesday, during their victory against the St. Louis Cardinals. Similar to his MLB debut, the Pirayes opted to deploy their top pitching prospect out of the bullpen in a long relief role. In this outing, Chandler logged four innings of work. He did not allow a run and allowed just one hit. He struck out three and served up just one free pass. He was also credited as the winning pitcher. Through his first eight MLB innings, Chandler has yet to surrender a run while posting a 0.50 WHIP with a 6:1 K:BB. Despite struggling during most of the second half at Triple-A, Chandler appears to have found his footing in the big leagues rather quickly. Despite being in a long relief role, he remains a must-start option in all standard leagues for the remainder of the campaign.Source: MLB.com
Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitching prospect Miguel Ullola Fires Quality Start on Wednesday
Miguel Ullola picked up the win on Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out six in six innings against Triple-A Albuquerque. Ullola completed six innings for the first time all season in his last start, and he matched the feat again in this outing. His electric stuff was on display, generating 13 whiffs on 42 swings. A major key for the right-hander is getting ahead of hitters and limiting free passes, which he has done with only two walks in this short stretch. For the season, Ullola has a 3.68 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and a 115:69 K:BB ratio in 95.1 innings. He is capable of contributing in multiple roles if the Astros need another arm.Source: MiLB.com
Houston Astros right-handed pitching prospect JR Ritchie Strikes Out 11 in Wednesday's Outing
JR Ritchie allowed one hit and two walks while striking out 11 across six scoreless innings as he picked up the win against Triple-A Norfolk. Ritchie gave up the most runs in an outing all season with five in his most recent outing, but bounced back here with the most strikeouts in a start all year. He generated 14 whiffs on 38 swings, with his sinker and curveball combining for 11 of them. The right-hander started the season at High-A, and his dominance at each level earned him multiple promotions. He's now made seven starts at Triple-A and has a 3.62 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a 39:16 K:BB ratio in 37.1 innings. Ritchie is currently ranked as the number two prospect in the Braves system according to MLB.com.Source: MiLB.com
Atlanta Braves right-handed pitching prospect Trey Yesavage Delivers Solid Start on Wednesday
Trey Yesavage allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out five in 4 2/3 innings on Wednesday against Triple-A Indianapolis. Yesavage had his best start since being promoted to Triple-A, limiting baserunners and generating 13 whiffs on 37 swings. Four of his five offerings drew multiple swings and misses from hitters, with his splitter leading the way with five. The 2024 first-rounder has soared through the minors this year and owns a 3.24 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and a 150:38 K:BB in 91 2/3 innings across all levels. It's unlikely we see him in the majors this season, but his ascent points to him having a role with the big-league club in 2026.Source: MiLB.com
Toronto Blue Jays right-handed pitching prospect Adam Mazur Promoted, Set to Start Thursday
Adam Mazur was promoted to the majors Wednesday afternoon and is expected to start on Thursday against the Mets. Mazur has been unspectacular in 107.1 innings at Triple-A Jacksonville this season, holding a 4.36 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 15.6% K-BB%. He made one spot start with Miami back in June and allowed four runs and four walks in 5.2 innings. For his career in the majors, he's started nine games and has a 7.32 ERA with a 1.78 WHIP in 39.1 innings. The 24-year-old's best offering is his slider, which he has leaned into more this year. His struggles pop up most often against opposite-handed hitters, with a 1.46 WHIP against lefties versus 1.19 to righties. The profile isn't overly exciting for fantasy outside of deep leagues and NL-only formats.Source: Kevin Barral
Miami Marlins right-handed pitching prospect German Marquez Expected to Return Friday
German Marquez (biceps) threw a bullpen session on Wednesday and is expected to come off the 15-day injured list to start against the Chicago Cubs on Friday. It's been a little over a month since the Rockies placed Marquez on the IL on July 21 with right biceps tendinitis. The 30-year-old made 20 starts before then and went 3-11 with a 5.67 ERA, a 1.64 WHIP, and 73:35 K:BB in 98 1/3 innings. Marquez debuted in the bigs with the Rockies in 2016, but the former All-Star's long run with the franchise is likely nearing an end. As a soon-to-be free agent, Marquez will "almost certainly" sign elsewhere in the offseason, according to Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post.Source: Patrick Saunders - Denver Post
Colorado Rockies right-hander Jesse Winker, Jose Siri Begin Rehab Assignments
Jesse Winker (back) and outfielder Jose Siri (leg) began rehab assignments at the Single-A level on Wednesday. There's potential for both players to return sometime in September. Winker has been on the IL with inflammation in his lower back since July 11, and he missed significant time earlier this season with an oblique strain. The injuries have limited him to 26 games and a .229/.300/.400 line with one home run and 10 RBI in 81 plate appearances. Without Winker, the Mets have mostly turned to Starling Marte and Mark Vientos at DH. Siri, meanwhile, fractured his left tibia just nine games into his season and has been on the shelf since April 17. The 30-year-old has never been an offensive threat (.207/.265/.403 in 1,210 plate appearances), but his speed and defense could help the Mets late in the season if he returns.Source: Anthony DiComo - MLB.com
New York Mets designated hitter Ha-Seong Kim Takes Grounders on Wednesday, Nearing Return
Ha-Seong Kim (back) is coming along well in his recovery from lower-back inflammation. After Kim took infield grounders on Wednesday, manager Kevin Cash said the Rays are "happy with the progression." Kim, who landed on the 10-day IL on Aug. 20, could return as early as Saturday. After recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, Kim debuted July 4 and has hit a disappointing .214/.290/.321 with two homers, five RBI, five runs scored, and six stolen bases in 93 plate appearances. Back issues have forced the 29-year-old to the IL twice since late July. Standout shortstop prospect Carson Williams has filled in for Kim and gone 6-for-19 with a homer, five RBI, a stolen base, and 8:1 K:BB in his first 20 trips to the plate in the majors.Source: Ryan Bass
Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Alek Manoah Pitches Well in Latest Rehab Start
Alek Manoah (elbow) made his third rehab start with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday as he works back from June 2024 elbow surgery. Manoah gave up three runs (all unearned) over 5 1/3 innings of six-hit ball and posted five strikeouts against two walks on 85 pitches (50 strikes). Although the 27-year-old has been rehabbing as a starter, the Blue Jays already have six capable rotation options in Kevin Gausman, Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt, Jose Berrios, Shane Bieber, and Eric Lauer. Barring injuries, Manoah seems likely to pitch in relief if he does make it back to the majors this season. The former All-Star has made all 75 of his career appearances as a starter and recorded a 3.34 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP, 8.83 K/9, and 3.39 BB/9 in 420 innings.Source: MiLB.com
Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Nathaniel Lowe Going on Paternity List
Nathaniel Lowe (personal) on the paternity list on Thursday, according to Christopher Smith of MassLive.com. Outfielder Rob Refsnyder (oblique) will come off the 10-day injured list to take his roster spot. Lowe will miss up to three games, which should lead to more playing time at first base for Romy Gonzalez. After the Washington Nationals released Lowe on Aug. 16, he signed with the Red Sox and has been a regular in their lineup. Since debuting with Boston on Aug. 18, the 30-year-old has appeared in nine games and gone 8-for-27 with one homer, seven RBI, five runs scored, and 4:4 K:BB. Between the two teams, Lowe has combined to hit .221/.297/.379 with 17 HRs, 75 RBI, and 51 runs in 522 plate appearances.Source: Christopher Smith - MassLive.com

Pavin Smith Exits Early With Quad Tightness
Pavin Smith (quadriceps) exited a 3-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday with tightness in his left quadriceps. Smith went 2-for-3 with two singles and a strikeout before the Diamondbacks subbed in Tyler Locklear to pinch run for him in the top of the seventh inning. It was just Smith's eighth game back since he missed about a month and a half with a strained right oblique. The 29-year-old has played in 87 games this season and slashed .258/.362/.434 with eight homers, 28 RBI, and 36 runs scored in 288 plate appearances. If Smith has to miss more time, Locklear would likely step in at first base.Source: Arizona Diamondbacks
