The Dallas Cowboys chose not to pick up the fifth-year option for the 2026 season of cornerback Kaiir Elam, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The Cowboys acquired Elam in a trade with the Buffalo Bills this offseason, but now he will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2025 campaign. The Bills drafted the 23-year-old defensive back with the 23rd overall pick in 2022 out of the University of Florida. If Dallas had picked up his fifth-year option, they would have had to pay Elam around $12.7 million in 2026. Elam played in only three games in his second season in Buffalo in 2023 and hasn't played more than 13 games in any of his first year years in the NFL while struggling to secure a starting role. He has just 81 tackles (56 solo), two interceptions, six pass breakups and a fumble recovery in his 29 games (12 starts). Elam will be competing for a spot on Dallas' 53-man roster this summer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (knee) is recovering from surgery in January for a cartilage issue, and owner Jerry Jones said he hopes the 26-year-old defensive back treats his rehab more seriously than he did after he tore his left ACL in Week 3 of the 2023 season. Diggs made it back for the start of the 2024 season, but there were frustrations from the team with how he handled some rehab sessions, and it surprised the team that he left Dallas during his rehab work. He played in 11 games last year before suffering an injury to the same knee and had surgery on Jan. 23 for a chondral tissue graft to fix damaged cartilage. The Cowboys expect Diggs to start training camp on July 21 on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Diggs, a two-time Pro Bowler, had a league-high 11 interceptions in 2021 but has six since in three years.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Dallas Morning News - Calvin Watkins

As expected, the Tennessee Titans officially did not pick up the fifth-year option for the 2026 season on wide receiver Treylon Burks (knee). The fifth-year option would have guaranteed Burks $15.493 million for the 2026 season, read more...

ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports that the Green Bay Packers aren't picking up the fifth-year option for the 2026 season on linebacker Quay Walker. However, general manager Brian Gutekunst said earlier this offseason that the Packers would like to sign him to a contract extension before the 2025 season starts. The 24-year-old remains in the team's long-term plans after recording 100-plus total tackles in all three of his NFL seasons. Walker was selected 22nd overall by Green Bay in 2022 out of Georgia, and he's contributed 341 total tackles (206 solo), 6.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, 12 QB hits, an interception returned for a touchdown, 12 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 44 regular-season games (43 starts). He played in a career-low 13 games in 2024 due to an ankle injury that cost him the final three regular-season games, but he returned to play in the wild-card loss to the Eagles.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

The Las Vegas Raiders signed free-agent wideout Collin Johnson on Thursday, according to NFL.com. The former Texas Longhorn was originally a fifth-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. However, he spent just one year with the team before a two-year stint with the New York Giants and two seasons with the Chicago Bears. Overall, Johnson has hauled in 31 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns in 38 career games. After the Raiders selected Jack Bech in Round 2 and Dont'e Thornton Jr. in Round 4 of the 2025 NFL Draft, it would be a surprise if Johnson makes the active roster and is on the fantasy football radar next season.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com

Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine is expected to have a lesser version of the two-minute, passing-down role that he held near the end of his first tenure with the organization, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. Perine spent the 2020, 2021, and 2022 seasons with the Bengals and secured 38 receptions in his final season with the team. After a year with Denver and a year with Kansas City, he's back in Joe Burrow's offense and will have somewhat of a role in the backfield. However, the 29-year-old is likely well past his prime, and Chase Brown showed enough to have confidence in him as a starting fantasy football running back in 2025. Either way, Perine could be worth rostering in deeper PPR setups based on this report.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBallerSource: Paul Dehner Jr. -- The Athletic

The Miami Dolphins are expected to trade or release former All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey in May or June, according to NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe. The 30-year-old has spent the last two seasons with Miami, and the sides are reportedly ready to part ways. Since heading to South Beach, Ramsey has racked up 82 tackles (57 solo), one sack, 11 pass deflections, and five interceptions in 27 games. The former No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft has three All-Pro nods and seven Pro Bowl selections on his resume, but is likely headed toward the end of his time as a top-notch perimeter corner. That said, there should be no shortage of interest in his services around the NFL.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBallerSource: Cameron Wolfe

According to Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan, fourth-round rookie wide receiver Chimere Dike can play all three wide receiver positions and will get an opportunity at each spot this offseason. Dike spent last season with the Florida Gators, racking up 42 receptions for 783 yards and two touchdowns. He began his collegiate career at Wisconsin and spent four seasons in Madison. The 22-year-old flashed his speed during the pre-draft process, posting a 4.34 forty-yard dash time at the 2025 NFL Combine. The Titans have lacked high-end speed at the wideout spot in recent years, and Dike could have a chance to earn significant playing time in a young and unproven wide receiver room. If so, he'll help rookie quarterback Cam Ward get his career started in Nashville. At worst, Dike should heavily contribute on special teams.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBallerSource: JT Ruhnke

The Seattle Seahawks exercised offensive tackle Charles Cross' fifth-year option for the 2026 season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cross, the ninth overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Mississippi State, is now under contract with Seattle for the next two seasons. The 24-year-old is expected to open his fourth season in the NFL in 2025 as the Seahawks' starting left tackle while protecting new quarterback Sam Darnold's blind side. In his first three years in the NFL, Cross has started all 48 games that he's appeared in and has missed only three games. He will remain a fixture on Seattle's offensive line for at least another two seasons and possibly more.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

The Philadelphia Eagles declined the fifth-year option for the 2026 season on offensive guard Kenyon Green, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Green will now become an unrestricted free agent after the 2025 season. The Eagles acquired Green from the Houston Texans in March in exchange for defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson and a sixth-round pick. It's no surprise that Philly didn't pick up Green's fifth-year option, as he was a disappointment in his three years in Houston and missed all of the 2023 season due to a shoulder injury. The 24-year-old former 15th overall pick in 2022 by the Texans out of Texas A&M only played in 12 games (nine starts) in 2024 in his final season in Houston. Green also dealt with injuries in 2024 and ended last year on the bench.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

The Jacksonville Jaguars are not picking up the fifth-year option for the 2026 season on linebacker Devin Lloyd, a league source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Lloyd will now become an unrestricted free agent after the 2025 campaign. The 26-year-old linebacker was taken with the 27th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Utah and has been very productive for the organization, tallying 100-plus combined tackles in all three of his NFL seasons, although he's been a liability in pass coverage. Lloyd has a total of 335 tackles (195 solo), two sacks, nine tackles for loss, eight QB hits, four interceptions, 19 pass breakups, a forced fumble and four fumble recoveries in 48 games (46 starts). He finished last year as the No. 30 fantasy linebacker in IDP formats and should be one of the team's leading tacklers again in 2025 if he stays healthy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Michael DiRocco

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said that "when the staff is in place, the jump from Year 1 to Year 2, I think that's where guys make a huge jump," when referring to second-year wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Gannon said that Harrison "went to work" on his weaknesses this offseason and "looks awesome out there right now." "I'm really excited to see where his game goes." The 22-year-old Ohio State product had very high expectations in his rookie year in the NFL in 2024 after being taken fourth overall by the Cardinals in last year's draft. Even though he had eight touchdowns in 17 games, his 62 receptions (116 targets) and 885 yards were considered a disappointment for fantasy managers that drafted him as a WR1 talent right away. If he can gain more chemistry with quarterback Kyler Murray, a 1,000-yard season in Year 2 in 2025 is entirely possible.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Mad Dog Sports Radio

The New York Giants already announced that they are not picking up the fifth-year option on offensive tackle Evan Neal heading into the final year of his rookie deal in 2025, and now he's set for a position change. The New York Post's Paul Schwartz reports that the Giants will attempt to resuscitate Neal's NFL career by moving him from tackle to guard. The 24-year-old former seventh overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Alabama has failed to live up to his draft position at right tackle and was benched early in the 2024 season. In addition to his poor play, Neal also dealt with hip and rib injuries and played in just 16 games over the last two seasons. Even if Neal takes well to the position switch in 2025, there's no guarantee that he'll stick around in the Big Apple beyond next year. He is expected to compete at the right-guard spot in training camp this summer.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: New York Post - Paul Schwartz
