Don't overlook Cole Custer at Martinsville Speedway this weekend. Although the No. 41 team has gotten off to a very rocky start in 2025, "The Paperclip" is one of Custer's best tracks on the circuit--and he has speed this weekend. Inread more...

Todd Gilliland could end up with a good finish in the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway this weekend. "The Paperclip" has been a pretty solid track for Gilliland over the last few years, as he has finished 13th or better in three of his six starts at this track--including a 10th-place finish in the fall 2023 race. As far as this weekend goes, Gilliland qualified in 25th-place for Sunday's race, and he was 13th-fastest in practice when it came to 10-lap average--although it's worth noting that the No. 34 Ford never actually made a long run during time trials, so it's hard to get a good read on the speed in the car. Still, Gilliland finished 17th at Phoenix earlier this season despite starting back in 27th. We could see a similar performance out of this No. 34 Ford this weekend. At just $5,600 on DraftKings, Gilliland is a pretty good low-dollar DFS option on Sunday with a strong record at this particular race track.--Jordan McAbeeSource: Jayski

Hendrick Motorsports driver Alex Bowman will start third for this week's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. Bowman is one of the three Hendrick drivers to start inside the top five for this week's race. In 17 starts at Martinsville, Bowman has one win, five top-10 finishes, and an average finish of 18.5. In six races so far this season, Bowman leads all drivers with five top-10 finishes and has led in four different Cup events. In practice, Bowman ranked 11th in overall lap averages while failing to rank in the top 10 in all other categories on speed. Bowman has been consistent like no other driver this season, meaning that he is worth at least a small number of exposure in DFS lineups, but works best in tournaments due to low upside and his Martinsville history being decent at best.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

Carson Hocevar is an interesting fantasy option at Martinsville Speedway this weekend. The No. 77 Chevrolet was fast on the time charts during practice on Saturday, but when interviewed about his car following practice, you could tell that Hocevar wasn't tooread more...

After another disappointing run at Homestead last weekend despite looking really good in practice, fantasy NASCAR players are a bit leery on how much they trust Ty Gibbs right now, and rightfully so. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has struggled mightily this season, with an average finish of 25.7 through the first six races, and only one result better than 22nd. What's even more frustrating for fantasy players is how strong Gibbs has looked in practice and/or qualifying, which is once again the story this weekend at Martinsville Speedway. The No. 54 Toyota ended up 11th-fastest in practice at Martinsville this weekend and will roll off the starting grid from 13th place when the Cook Out 400 goes green. So the question is, should you roster Gibbs in DFS this weekend? At $7,000 on DraftKings, it's a bit enticing to roll the dice with Gibbs, but considering he has never finished better than 18th at Martinsville Speedway in five career Cup Series starts, it's probably best to just stay away once again this weekend.--Jordan McAbeeSource: MSN

Trackhouse Racing's Ross Chastain will start 17th for Martinsville Speedway's Cook Out 400 on Sunday. This will be the fourth time since 2022 that Chastain will start a Martinsville race from inside the top 20. In 12 previous cup events at the site, Chastain has seven top-20 finishes, including six straight results of 14th or better in this week's race. Through six races this season, Chastain has four finishes of 12th or better at various track types. In practice, Chastain ranked 18th in overall lap averages while displaying top-10 speeds in the 25 and 30 consecutive lap average categories, showcasing how his car is best on longer green flag runs. Based on his upside, recent Martinsville history, and 2025 performance, along with his practice speeds, Chastain is a solid driver to consider for all formats, and he works best as a pivot option to other top-priced options.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

One of the big surprises at Martinsville last fall was Shane van Gisbergen, who wound up finishing 12th last November in his very first start at the half-mile race track despite starting back in 29th. At a track that's super hardread more...

Tyler Reddick of 23XI Racing will start ninth for Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway after qualifying. Reddick's starting position for this week's race will be the second time that he will ever start in the top 10 at Martinsville. In 10 races at the Virginia short track, Reddick has two top-10 finishes, which include his ninth-place finish in last year's spring Martinsville race. After six races so far this season, Reddick has three top-10 finishes and an average finish of 12.7. In practice, Reddick ranked 20th in overall lap averages and failed to rank inside the top 10 in all categories on speed compared to the field. Based on his overvalued salary being around $7,700, low upside, and slow practice speeds, Reddick is a fade for DFS lineups this week, especially with Martinsville being one of his worst tracks statistically.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

Trackhouse Racing's Daniel Suarez will start 26th after qualifying for this week's race at Martinsville Speedway, the Cook Out 400. This race will mark the fourth consecutive race this year where Suarez will start outside of the top 20. In 16 previous races at Martinsville, Suarez had six top-20 finishes, with his last one being scored in April 2023. In six races so far this season, Suarez has two top-20 finishes while gaining a positive place differential four times. In practice, Suarez ranked 36th in overall lap averages, while only ranking among the top 20 fastest in 10 consecutive lap averages, indicating that his car is at its best on the short runs. Considering his practice speeds and how Suarez has yet to obtain positive PD in any Martinsville race since 2022, Suarez is not an ideal choice to roster in DFS lineups, especially when better alternatives are available in his salary range of $6,800.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

Richard Childress Racing's Austin Dillon will start 18th for the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway this week. This will be the first top-20 start for Dillon this season since the second race of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway. In 22 starts at Martinsville, Dillon has 13 top-20 finishes. He also has three finishes of 12th or better and has earned positive place differential four times since 2022. After six races so far this season, Dillon has three top-20 finishes while obtaining positive PD twice. In practice, Dillon ranked 29th in overall lap averages while failing to rank inside the top 20 on speed in all other categories. Dillon's history has overall been mixed at Martinsville, just like the 2025 season so far. Due to his slow practice speeds, Dillon is not the top recommendation available for DFS lineups around his salary range ($6,500 on DraftKings). Dillon's equipment and more recent positive results, however, should make him playable with small exposure in tournament games.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

A.J. Allmendinger of Kaulig Racing will start 23rd for Sunday's Cook Off 400 at Martinsville Speedway. It will be Allmendinger's fourth start outside of the top 20 at the Virginia short track since 2022. In 25 starts at Martinsville, Allmendinger has 14 top-20 finishes, with his last one being earned in 2018. With six races completed so far this season, Allmendinger has three top-15 finishes, including the last two Cup events. In practice, Allmendinger ranked seventh in overall lap averages but failed to rank inside the top 25 on speed in all other categories. Although Allmendinger starts in the back half of the field with potential upside, he is a risk for DFS due to his poor history at Martinsville with the Next-Gen car since 2022. Allmendinger is only recommended for tournament lineups based on his recent 2025 season-wide performance so far, but there are also better DFS alternatives with more upside around his price range ($6,000) who are available to roster. --Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

Spire Motorsports driver Justin Haley will start 30th for this week's race at Martinsville Speedway. Haley was the lowest qualifying driver of the three entries for Spire in this week's race. In eight races at Martinsville, Haley has never placed better than 27th and only gained positive place differential in three different Cup events. Through six races in the 2025 season, Haley has four top-20 finishes and has nabbed positive PD four times. In practice, Haley ranked 33rd in overall lap averages and 36th in 10 consecutive lap averages, while his hood came up, which limited his practice time. Despite a cheap salary below $6,000 on DraftKings and a deep starting position, Martinsville is one of Haley's worst tracks in the Cup Series. Fade the No. 7 Chevrolet driver due to his poor history and slow practice speeds this week.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

Zane Smith of Front Row Motorsports obtained a starting position of 19th for Sunday's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. This will be the first-ever top-20 starting position in the Cup Series at Martinsville for the No. 38 Ford driver. In three previous Cup starts, Smith's best finish was 21st, which he scored with positive place differential in his last appearance at Martinsville in November 2024. Smith is also a former winner in the Truck Series at Martinsville, where he has four top-10 finishes in four starts. Through six races so far this season, Smith has three finishes of 11th or better and has earned positive PD three times. In practice, Smith ranked 22nd in overall lap averages and ranked among the top 20 in 15, 20, 25, and 30 consecutive lap averages. Although he does not offer as much upside for a value pick below $5,500 on DraftKings, Smith is in better equipment than most in this tier that is capable of placing in the top 20.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

Kaulig Racing's Ty Dillon will start 28th after qualifying for this week's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. This will be the highest starting position in a Martinsville Cup race for Dillon since 2020. In 12 starts at the Virginia short track, Dillon has three top-20 finishes while scoring positive place differential 11 times. After six races so far this season, Dillon has two top-20 finishes and three finishes with positive PD earned. In practice, Dillon ranked third in overall lap averages while ranking 17th in 10 consecutive lap averages and 16th in 15 consecutive lap averages. With his starting position deep in the field, his equipment, a history of collecting positive PD, and practice speeds indicative of a top-20 finish, Dillon is a great overall value play for all DFS formats.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: DriverAverages.com

23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace placed third at the end of Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Starting the race from the eighth position, Wallace was quiet during the race's first stage. Although he kept out of trouble and crashes, the No. 23 Toyota driver fell back to 12th and missed earning stage points at the end of stage one. In stage two, Wallace would gain positions through pit road and improve his car to the point that it could compete against the top five. Wallace earned stage points at the end of the second stage by placing fifth. In the final stage, Wallace obtained more positions through pit road and soon grabbed the lead for the first time. Wallace went on to lead 56 laps for the day, eventually losing the lead to Alex Bowman and getting passed by Kyle Larson. The third-place finish for Wallace would become the best of his Cup career at the site, and he now sits seventh in the regular season standings.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: NASCAR.com
