2 weeks agoVegas Golden Knights winger William Carrier (upper body) will make his return to the lineup Thursday against the Calgary Flames. Carrier hasn't played since January 4 due to an upper-body injury that required surgery, a span of 26 games. Carrier will re-enter his fourth-line role for the Knights, a job he has occupied for seven seasons. He won't provide much offense, but he makes for a good late-week stream for fantasy teams in need of hits.Source: Jesse Granger
2 weeks agoAnaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson (concussion) could return Thursday against the Minnesota Wild. Carlsson has missed six games with a concussion suffered in late February, but his condition has improved and he is nearing a return. The rookie has only played 40 games this season due to injuries and load management, but he has racked up 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists) in that time and has looked great while doing it, especially for a 19-year-old. He should be valuable for years to come and is one of the top dynasty assets in fantasy.Source: Felix Sicard
2 weeks agoNew Jersey Devils defenseman John Marino (upper body) will not suit up for Thursday's game against the Dallas Stars. The right-shot blue-liner is sidelined with an upper-body injury, even after logging 24:58 of ice time as part of a 3-1 loss to the Rangers on Monday. A quality two-way defender, Marino has tallied four goals and 23 points across 63 games this season, skating 21:10 per night. He has tallied three assists over his last three games and has added 77 blocked shots to his resume this season. The Devils also announced that fellow defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler remains out with a concussion after he was elbowed in the head by Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe on Monday. Rempe received a four-game suspension for the illegal hit.Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoThe Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Bobby McMann to a two-year, $2.7 million contract extension. The late-blooming 27-year-old has been a valuable bottom-six winger for the team of late, netting 10 goals in 40 games on the season, including eight goals over his last 14 contests despite skating on the third line. McMann has recorded 18 points in his 40 games with the Maple Leafs this season and has averaged just 10:34 of ice time in that time, although he has been far exceeding that total of late. He led the AHL's Toronto Marlies with 21 goals in just 30 games last season and posted two goals and three points in the AHL this season. Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoFlorida Panthers forwards Sam Bennett and Evan Rodrigues will both miss Thursday's road game versus the Carolina Hurricanes. "We will reevaluate them for the Tampa Bay game on Saturday." Bennett, 27, has tallied 16 goals and 32 points in 54 games this season. He has also added 130 hits, 134 shots, 83 penalty minutes, and a plus-12 rating to provide fantasy managers with cross-category production. The veteran netminder was acquired from the Montreal Canadiens prior to the March 8 NHL trade deadline but was unable to play until this point due to visa issues. "He's a veteran guy," Devils coach Travis Green said. "A good goalie in the league for a while now ... I'm looking forward to getting Jake in the net and get him up and running as quick as possible." The 33-year-old has struggled in recent seasons on some poor Habs teams, working to a 3.65 goals-against average and an .892 save percentage across 21 games this season. He was part of a three-goalie tandem in Montreal alongside Sam Montembeault and Cayden Primeau.Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoToronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner (lower body) will not suit up for Thursday's road game against the Philadelphia Flyers. The veteran suffered a lower-body injury on an awkward fall while attempting a shot on goal in a 4-1 loss to the Boston Bruins on March 7 and missed Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, a 3-2 win. The 26-year-old is enjoying another big season with 25 goals and 76 points across 62 games with 145 shots in 21:20 of average ice time per contest. A second-round pick by the club in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Khusnutdinov went pointless in six games with St. Petersburg SKA of the KHL this season before being traded to Sochi SC where he captained the team and posted six goals and 20 points in 49 games. The first year of his entry-level deal will be burned this season and the pact will end at the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign.Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoVancouver Canucks goaltender Casey DeSmith is the starting goaltender for Wednesday's contest versus the visiting Colorado Avalanche. The 32-year-old should be in for considerable action with Thatcher Demko listed as week to week with a lower-body injury. DeSmith has been mediocre this season as he sports a 2.85 goals-against average and an .898 save percentage in 19 starts, going 8-4-5 in the process. Nonetheless, his short-term fantasy value takes a major leap forward with Demko sidelined, although he is a risky streaming option on Wednesday as the Avs sit first in the league with 3.71 goals per game on the season. 2 weeks agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (lower body) could return to the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Colorado Avalanche. The hulking 6-foot-8 rear guard has recorded four goals and 23 points on the season across 62 games. He has added 86 hits, 114 blocks, and 63 penalty minutes to his resume on the campaign as part of his 18:57 of average ice time per game. 2 weeks agoNew Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler is out indefinitely with a concussion suffered when he was elbowed in the head by New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe on Monday. Rempe was suspended four games for the incident. The 26-year-old is a key piece of the Devils' blueline, even if he doesn't offer much at the offensive end of the ice. He has recorded just one goal and nine points in 49 games this season but has 69 hits and 79 blocks to his credit as part of his 19:25 of average ice time per game. He was a plus-27 a season ago but has slipped to a minus-four rating on a disappointing Devils team that sits sixth in the division with a 31-30-4 record on the season and six points back of the New York Islanders for the second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.Source: NHL.com

The Bruins acquired the veteran prior to the March 8 trade deadline in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2026 along with forward prospect Luke Toporowski. "He's not even skating yet, so it's week to week," Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery said Wednesday,"... The professionals that we have think the best thing is to gradually bring him back onto the ice." The bottom-six winger recorded four goals and 16 points across 49 games with the Wild this season and is a two-time Stanley Cup winner with the Tampa Bay Lightning and St. Louis Blues. He finished a 7-2 victory with one goal and four assists. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ilya Kovalchuk were previously the only 18-year-olds with at least four assists in a game. The Blackhawks offense has suddenly exploded for 20 goals across the last four games, and Bedard has had a hand in half of the markers. 2 weeks agoFlorida Panthers center Aleksander Barkov put in a big-boy performance against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday, leading the way in a 4-3 win with two goals and one assist. He's had 41 points (nine goals, 32 assists) in 33 appearances on the road as Florida has gone a superb 24-6-2 away from home.Source: ESPN
