Haotong Li has only played two events on the PGA Tour this season. The Chinese golfer did not make the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open. However, an opening 67 at Royal Portrush and a subsequent 67 kept Li on the first page of the leaderboard at the Open Championship. The T-4 was a career best in a major for the golfer. It comes on the heels of winning the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters which was his first tournament win in three years. Li only plays a few events a year and even fewer on American soil. It will be intriguing to potentially utilize him as a DFS play for this week's event in Minnesota. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Chris Kirk can be dangerously good at events like the 3M Open. The American golfer may be 40 but seems to spring to life in summer events. See the Rocket Classic as a great example in late June where Kirk shot all four rounds in the 60's and lost in a playoff. Kirk may not be as long off the tee as he used to be (297.2 yard average). However, he is better than his -0.402 strokes gained to putting which ranks 157th on tour. He is plus money to finish inside the Top 40 this week (+125 via DraftKings). Kirk can be streaky all in the same tournament. That makes him an extreme risk. See the John Deere Classic where he blew up with a Saturday 79 and never was right after. There is potential but there is danger, too.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Mackenzie Hughes was harder on himself after playing in Europe the past couple of weeks. The Canadian golfer missed the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open Championship. It came down to not making enough birdies which has been a struggle for a couple of months now. Hughes has a birdie or better conversion percentage of only 28.72% (154th). It does not help his scoring average of 70.74 (133rd). Overall, Hughes has not been great at any major metrics. He comes close to average with putting and is reasonably good at scrambling (80th overall). At Myrtle Beach in May, Hughes made putts. Unless he starts to avoid mistakes, Hughes is an option to fade in DFS and betting formats alike. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Joe Highsmith either plays really well or misses the weekend. The American golfer has missed the cut in six of his previous eight tournaments. He has had some amazing results in 2025 including the T-8 at the PGA Championship and winning the Cognizant Classic. Unfortunately, too many times, Highsmith and missing so many cuts has skewed his scoring average. That 70.92 average is now 152nd on tour. Worse, his greens in regulation has dropped to 61.29% which is 167th. If he can get on the green without mistakes, Highsmith can still putt pretty well. He averages 27.2 putts during Round 3 which ranks fifth. The problem is getting to the weekend. Highsmith is a volatile option because he can make birdies but can also make quite a few bogeys and worse. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Max Greyserman got his first taste of links golf and it was a short stint. The American golfer missed the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open Championship. However, his Friday 67 at Royal Portrush at least offers a sign of hope for this week's 3M Open. Before his trip overseas, Greyserman was on a roll. He had several Top 25 results and lost in a playoff in Detroit. The golfer does well when he drives the ball accurately and putts well. He hit several errant shots early in Northern Ireland and never truly recovered. From a betting standpoint, Greyserman can easily be worth a look at a Top 10 or even Top 20 finish. The Top 20 still comes in at +135 via DraftKings. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Christiaan Bezuidenhout was on the front page of the leaderboard for a while at The Open Championship. The South African golfer had an up and down tournament overall, however. Bezuidenhout finished T-34 after a final round 72. His opening 67 was followed up by a Friday 73. The "moving day" 69 was dashed by what happened on Sunday. Conditions were not that tough at Royal Portrush. That being said, Bezuidenhout has played better of late. Despite not having a Top 10 result since February, he does rank 14th in strokes gained to putting (0.482). The problems are his strokes lost off the tee and approaching the green. Worse, those approaches greater than 200 yards rank 158th overall. The Par-71, 7,431 yard layout at TPC Twin Cities could cost Bezuidenhout from a DFS perspective. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller

Davis Thompson missed the cut at last week's Open Championship and will now focus on preparing for this week's 3M Championship at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota. Thompson has five top-25 finishes and missed the cut seven times in 21 starts this season. Over the past 12 months, Thompson ranks in the 92nd percentile in proximity to the hole on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is worth mentioning because at last year's 3M Championship over 47% of approach shots came from this distance.--Ian Christenson - RotoBaller

Harris English ranks eighth in FedEx points. The American golfer even has cracked the Top 20 in the world rankings (19th). However, despite nine appearances overseas, English has not had quite the same success at The Open Championship. His best result was a T-15 at Muirfield way back in 2013. Since then, there have been three missed cuts and a bunch of outside Top 40 results. English does seem to like ugly golf as his Farmers Insurance Open win this year would attest. For a golfer who has finished under par inside the United Kingdom only once, history seems against him. English is -205 to make the cut this time around and current form suggests a changed golfer as evidenced by his T-22 at the Genesis Scottish Open last week.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
