No Timetable For Panthers To Activate Sam Darnold
2 years agoCarolina Panthers interim head coach Steve Wilks said it's tough to say when the team will activate quarterback Sam Darnold (ankle), whose 21-day window ends next Tuesday. If the team doesn't activate him by then, he'll remain on Injured Reserve for the rest of the season. Wilks said that Darnold looks good, but he also hasn't played in a regular season game since the end of last year. Darnold suffered a left ankle sprain in the preseason finale and has been out ever since. P.J. Walker will make his fourth straight start this weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals, but Darnold could be an option for the team for a Week 10 rematch with the Atlanta Falcons. Even if Darnold is activated by next week, it feels like a long shot that we'll see him start a game this year.
