"No Chance" Zack Wheeler Starts In Game 4
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson said there's "no chance" that right-hander Zack Wheeler makes the start in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series against the San Diego Padres on Saturday night on short rest. Wheeler was dominant in the Game 1 win on Tuesday, throwing seven shutout innings with one hit, one walk and eight strikeouts. Thomson said it would be one of Noah Syndergaard, Kyle Gibson or Bailey Falter making the start on Saturday. It will depend on how Friday's game goes and who is used out of the bullpen. Wheeler has been great in his first three playoff starts, allowing only three earned runs on seven hits while walking three and striking out 17 in 19 1/3 frames for a 1-1 record.
