Nick Kurtz Posts First Career Multi-Homer Game
Nick Kurtz posted his first career multi-home run game during their loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday evening. Kurtz went deep for the first time in the fifth inning off Angels starter Jack Kochanowicz. Then in the seventh, Kurtz would tally his second solo shot of the contest, this time off Shaun Anderson. This was Kurtz's second-straight game going deep and fourth long ball of his MLB career. Through his first 25 games at the major league level, the former fourth overall pick has posted a .233/.277/.419 slash line. However, it appears he is starting to turn the corner from a power perspective. Earlier in the summer, Kurtz flashed elite power potential at Triple-A, launching seven home runs in just 20 games. Given his increasing production, he is a viable corner infielder in all standard formats.
