The Washington Capitals acquired defenseman Nick Jensen from the Detroit Red Wings on Friday afternoon. The Capitals also received a 2019 fifth-round pick in the trade while the Red Wings acquired a 2020 second-round pick and defenseman Madison Bowey. Jensen possesses an average offensive skill set, but he makes good first passes and is capable defensively. He has two goals, 13 assists, and 79 blocked shots through 60 games.
