Seattle Mariners designated hitter Nelson Cruz is hitting .182 through 44 at-bats in the month of May heading into Monday night's action. Now that teammate Robinson Cano will miss significant time with a broken hand, Cruz will be expected to step up and carry the load. Cruz will face the Twins' Jake Odorizzi on Monday night, and he is 7-for-20 lifetime against the right-hander. Cruz is slashing only .244/.287/.476 against right-handers in the early stages of the season after putting up a .306/.364/.586 line against them in 2017. Once those numbers improve, Cruz's production will be on the rise.--Joey C - RotoBaller
