Nathan Eovaldi Knocked Around For Five Runs
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi had a difficult outing against the Houston Astros Wednesday, allowing five runs on 11 hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out five batters. Eovaldi was hurt by a brutal third inning in which he allowed four runs, but could have escaped unscathed had a catchable fly ball not been allowed to drop between the normally outstanding Kike Hernandez and Hunter Renfroe. Eovaldi's record now sits at 7-3, and he has a 4.11 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 70 strikeouts in 72 1/3 innings. He's a very solid streaming starter, but not much more.
