Mookie Betts' Homer Not Enough For Red Sox
6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts finished with two hits in Saturday's 2-1 loss to Tampa Bay. His second knock was a solo shot to center field in the eighth inning, giving Boston their first run of the game. Betts was the only player in the game with more than one hit, and it's his third consecutive multi-hit game. Over the past seven games, the 26-year-old is slashing .423/.531/.692 with a home run, five runs batted in, and six runs scored. Betts is finally heating up at the plate, now he just needs the rest of the lineup to follow. He'll face Tyler Glasnow on Sunday before beginning a three-game series with Oakland, where he'll look to continue carrying the Red Sox offense.
