Major League Baseball has rejected the players' offer for a 114-game regular season this year with no additional salary cuts and told the union it doesn't plan on making a counterproposal, according to sources. The owners offered an 82-game regular season last week. MLB has no interest in extending the season into November, when they fear a second wave of COVID-19 could disrupt the playoffs and jeopardize $787 million in broadcast revenue. Owners have suggested a 50-game regular season with no more salary reductions, but multiple players have said they wouldn't abide a shorter schedule. Hopefully the two sides can meet some sort of middle ground, and they'll have to agree on it soon for a potential season to begin in early July.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
