Mike Williams 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: One Last Ride For the Soon-To-Be 31-Year-Old
Mike Williams re-signed with his old team during the 2025 NFL offseason. Things have changed since he was last there. Gone is WR Keenan Allen, but wideout Ladd McConkey, fresh off a stellar rookie season, and rookie receiver Tre Harris, drafted by the team in the 2nd round of the 2025 NFL Draft, figure to be the team's top-2 targets. Williams tore his ACL in 2023, and didn't look like he had recovered well during his tenure with the Jets and Steelers last season. Williams is a contested catch specialist, using his big frame and long arms to snag jump balls and box out defenders, but as he's turning 31 years old in October, it's worth questioning how much he has left in the tank. His history is riddled with a ton of injuries, and his body could be cooked. Many players acquire so much damage to their bones, ligaments, joints, and muscles, that they simply can't perform to the level and NFL team needs. Williams shouldn't be fantasy relevant unless both McConkey and Harris get injured, and even then, it's more likely that the Chargers offense would just completely collapse. Williams is a fine player to avoid in all but the deepest leagues.
