Mike Trout Very Close To Returning
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (wrist) took some swings in the indoor batting cages on Saturday, and manager Phil Nevin said the three-time American League MVP is very close to returning. However, Nevin didn't want to say if Trout could be activated from the injured list on Monday. Trout, who has been out since early July after breaking the hamate bone in his left hand also took swings against live pitching on Thursday and could return to the Angels lineup any day now. The 32-year-old could be back in the lineup as early as Monday against the Cincinnati Reds. It remains to be seen if the fractured hamate bone will affect Trout's swing down the stretch, but he'll remain a must-start in fantasy lineups upon his return. The Angels desperately need all the help they can get as they push for a playoff spot.
