Mike Clevinger To Start Rehab Assignment Next Week
6 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (back) will throw a simulated game on Saturday in extended spring training and if everything goes well, manager Terry Francona said the right-hander will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus on Monday. The 28-year-old made just two starts this year before suffering an upper back strain on April 8, but he tossed 12 scoreless innings and gave up just two hits with 22 strikeouts in his two starts. The Indians and fantasy owners could really use Clevinger back, who has already shown he can pitch like an ace when healthy. He needs to be owned in all leagues.
