Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jaime Garcia may not be the most intimidating southpaw, but the New York Mets are sticking to their routine of mostly benching outfielder Michael Conforto against lefties for Tuesday’s series opener. Although not unexpected, it’s an annoying move for fantasy owners. Conforto has seemingly come alive in recent days, picking up hits in four of his last five games, with multi-hit efforts in two of them. He’s also gone deep twice over that span, his first long balls since his first game of the season on April 5. It’s worth noting that Toronto is throwing left-hander J.A. Happ on Wednesday, but chances are the Mets aren’t benching Conforto two games in a row. Juan Lagares will start in Conforto's place on Tuesday, while Brandon Nimmo also gets in the lineup in Yoenis Cespedes' stead.--John Smith
