Michael Conforto Drawing Interest
2 years agoAgent Scott Boras suggested that free-agent outfielder Michael Conforto is drawing broad interest across the league already this offseason. "It is Christmas for the Confortos," Boras said. Boras is notorious for drumming up interest in his clients in the most grandiose of ways, so we should take this with a grain of salt. Conforto underwent surgery on his right shoulder in mid-April and was hoping to latch on with a team late last season as a designated hitter, but that never happened. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter should be fully healthy for the start of the 2023 season, so he should sign somewhere, but it remains to be seen how effective he'll be. In 125 games for the New York Mets in 2021, Conforto hit .232/.344/.384 with 14 home runs, 55 RBI, 52 runs scored and a stolen base.
