Max Scherzer Looks Good In His Return Sunday
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Max Scherzer (neck) had a successful return on Sunday against his old team, the Washington Nationals. After being scratched from his scheduled start earlier in the week due to neck spasms, Scherzer allowed only one run on two hits while walking two and striking out six in five innings on Sunday to pick up his third win of the year. The 38-year-old three-time Cy Young winner had a rough outing his last time out, so it was nice to see him look more like his usual dominant self in a great matchup against the Nats. Health could continue to be an issue for the aging superstar hurler, but for now he looks back on track. He should line up next for a more challenging start against the Cleveland Guardians.
