Max Scherzer Has Broken Nose
Max Scherzer suffered a broken nose when a ball bounced back at him after he bunted during batting practice on Tuesday. Manager Davey Martinez initially thought Scherzer could still pitch Wednesday, but with this diagnosis, his status is now unknown. Fortunately, a CAT scan came back negative. Still, this is a disappointing fluke of an injury, but hopefully Scherzer doesn't miss more than one start. More updates will be forthcoming as reports warrant.
