Matthew Stafford Injured Saturday, Ruled Out
4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (foot) has been downgraded to out after hobbling off early in Saturday's Week 16 game against the Buccaneers. The Lions are down 34 points to begin the second half, so the Lions understandably don't want to risk anything else with Stafford after he came into the game already dealing with rib and thumb injuries. Chase Daniel replaced Stafford in the first half but was ineffective, going 7-for-11 for just 52 yards. Stafford completed two of his three attempts for 17 yards before leaving the game. With the Lions well out of the playoff picture and with nothing left to play for in the Week 17 regular season finale, we'd be pretty surprised if Stafford suited up against the Vikings. Daniel will be a deep-league QB2 streamer next week against Minnesota if he gets the nod.
