Mason Rudolph Receives One-Year Extension
4 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers are giving quarterback Mason Rudolph a one-year, $5 million contract extension on Friday, according to a source. The deal also includes up to $4 million in incentives based on playing time. Ben Roethlisberger is only under contract through the 2021 season, so it makes Rudolph the only quarterback currently under contract with the team for 2022. The 25-year-old will back up Big Ben for what is expected to be the final season of his illustrious career, but he could be given the chance to prove that he deserves the starting job in 2022. Rudolph completed 58.1 percent of his passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in five games (one start) last season.
