The Washington Nationals have decided to bring up veteran Mark Reynolds as a corresponding move to placing first baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the disabled list. Reynolds has not had a single major league at-bat all season and is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks. Reynolds had a very solid 2017 season with the Colorado Rockies, but given his age and the effect that Coors has on hitters, he was not the most coveted free agent. Matt Adams is likely to remain the primary first baseman for the Nationals, but Reynolds should see a fair amount of pinch-hit opportunities and starts against left-handed pitchers.--Kev Mahserejian
