Marcus Semien Drops to Ninth in Batting Order
Marcus Semien is being dropped to ninth in the batting order for Friday's series opener against the hosting Chicago White Sox and right-hander Sean Burke. Semien was dropped from the leadoff spot in late April after a rough start to the 2025 campaign, and now he finds himself all the way at the bottom of the order while sporting a .180/.271/.236 slash line with a .507 OPS, three home runs, 17 RBI, 13 runs scored and two stolen bases in 178 at-bats. The 34-year-old three-time All-Star has struck out 46 times and walked 21 times in his 50 games. Semien has remained durable, but he just hasn't hit the ball well through the first third of the season. The good news is his xBA sits at .230, so positive regression should be coming, but fantasy managers may want to bench him until he starts seeing some results.
