Manny Machado Back Doing Baseball Activities Tuesday
12 months agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado (hand) increased his baseball activities on Tuesday, throwing long toss and swinging the bat, according to MLB.com. The six-time All-Star landed on the 10-day injured list with a left-hand fracture on May 19 after he was hit by a pitch on May 15. Machado has a chance to return when eligible on May 26 but still has a little ways to go in his recovery. It's been a miserable season for the superstar, who was sporting a .231/.282/.372 slash line with five long balls, 18 runs, 19 RBI, and a pair of steals over 40 games before going down with the ailment. Fantasy managers should continue to see Rougned Odor in the infield while the 30-year-old is on the shelf, but he hasn't been even a decent hitter since 2016 and is batting .186 this year through 25 contests.
