Luis Severino Throws Live Batting Practice Thursday
2 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Luis Severino (lat) threw live batting practice and some pitches in the bullpen on Thursday morning. He threw 35 pitches in total. Severino will see how he feels on Friday, but he thinks the plan is for him to head to Tampa and throw another live batting practice session before starting a minor-league rehab assignment. The 29-year-old is making good progress from another lat strain -- he dealt with the same injury in 2022 -- and should make his 2023 debut soon, barring any setbacks on his rehab assignment. His return later this month or in early May will be great news for a banged-up Yankees rotation and for fantasy managers. When healthy, Severino has ace potential.
